Thank you for tuning in. I'm Greg. I'm Mike. And we are the Pickleballers Next Door. We are for the Joes and not the pros. Your court, our court. All right. Thanks for tuning in to the Pickleballers Next Door. Today we are here at the grand opening of the Pickler in Thornton, Colorado. What a place. What a place. Yeah. It has that new car smell. It definitely has the new car smell. Can you smell the flooring? I can smell the flooring. Yeah. You walk in and it's kind of from the front doors, it's a little bit unassuming. You know, the pro shop's nice. It's all out there. Front desk. And you get to the front desk and look out and wow. Wow. It's a pickleball court. The lighting is gorgeous. The colors, I think, we haven't played here. We're going to be playing here today. But can't wait. So this is awesome. And the walls are all black. So you don't lose the ball in the background, which is really nice. And the sound baffles are huge and ridiculous. And it is pretty good in here. We'll find out later once people come in and actually start playing. But I think well, and I wore a black shirt, so you might not be able to body bag me now. Yeah, we won't be able to see you. It's like wearing camouflage. Everyone wears black. You can't see anybody. We're going to have some guests on today talking about pickleball New Year's resolutions. This is for you pickleballers out there. We want to know what you want to do with your pickleball. And we might have a special guest later on as well. Yeah. So well, stay tuned. We're going to have a lot more to come. See you later. Yeah. All right. We're here with Annie and we're she's going to start off our pickleballer resolution section here. So Annie, what is what is your pickleball resolution for this year? All right. So I've got three of them. Does that count? Yes. So the first one is I've been in like a three five duper freaking purgatory for a very long time. So I need to get out of that. Yep. Four or five duper end of next year. Let's go. Let's do it. Second one is just to meet more awesome people. I feel like, you know, I've had a lot of fun playing pickleball and the best part of it is meeting people. Well, if you get the chance, we're going to be on the road if you want to join us sometime. OK. Yeah. I mean, a lot of people are 100 percent serious. I know I'm going to have to hit you up about that schedule. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. OK. And then the last one is just to beat Greg. Oh, what are you talking about? What are you talking about? You beat me all the time. Like like a redheaded stepchild. Very. You're a very good player. I think you play above three five. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Duper duper duper. Yeah, I guess duper you're talking about. Yeah. Duper. I'm a zero duper. Yeah. I'm going to talk to someone about that. Yeah. Some day. Some days I'm a two. Oh, some days I'm a fourteen point. Oh, you know. But hey, thank you for being with us and doing this. Appreciate it. Of course. Thank you. All right. Good seeing you. Thank you. Thank you. Everybody. Happy New Year. All right. Hey, we're here with Carmen at the Pickler Grand Opening. So pickleball resolutions, New Year's resolutions. What's yours? And we're going to we're going to hold you to this. We're going to get your number and call you. I have a number. Don't worry. OK. All right. I think my pickleball resolution will be to stop hitting pop up balls. Oh, that's a good one. That's a good one. I need to work on that one early. I know some instructors if you need it. Yeah, I know some, too. What are your resolutions? Stop getting a body bag from him. Yeah, it's true. My resolution is I want to be four or five to five. Oh, mid year next year. OK, that's my resolution. What are you now? You're for right about a four. OK. Yeah. I also have a deeper wish and that's to be a three five as well. I'm on my way. You got it. I'm two seven right now. It's OK. It's OK. We'll get you. You'll get there. You'll get there. Yeah. Well, thank you for coming on and doing this with us. Thank you. All right. Another pickleball resolution here with Ben and Ben. So tell us what is your pickleball resolution for twenty twenty five. So for twenty twenty five, there's a lot actually planned. I'm working with a few organizations with my business Point Blank Athletics, and we're just trying to get a pickleball around as much as possible. I mean, obviously, you know, it brings a whole lot of people together for fun. And I'm all about hosting and bringing people together, for sure. So I want to just expand pickleball as much as we can within the Colorado and the Denver metro area. And so I'm excited for that, for sure, as well as I'm aspiring to go professionals if I can. So, I mean, I have a long ways to go, but, you know, practicing with Kyle Yates over here, you know, run for my money. You're looking good. I got some fast hands. Thanks, man. Yeah. So, yeah, I don't know where I was going with that. We're all good. No, but we definitely need to connect because, yeah, we could we could get a lot of stuff done together, I think. For sure. Yeah, this is awesome. How do you guys talk? Have you been in a tournament yourselves at all or have you won some tournaments? You want some gold? Yeah, yeah. OK, what are your what are your levels? If you don't mind me asking, like I'm right around a four. Oh, my duper is low. I mean, I play at a little bit of higher level. OK, but duper hates me. Duper hates me. I kind of screwed myself. But, you know, we'll get into that some other time. I was playing against both of you earlier on. And so you both have a love for the sport. I can definitely see that. And I wish you the best with pickleballers next door for sure. Thank you. Yeah, thank you. Thank you. Hey, this is Mike with the pickleballers next door. Just want to send a shout out to Scott. He's been incredible. He's actually set us up with the pickleball, the pop up pickleball court for us. He's incredible. So guys, look him up, see what they got to offer. They got a court that can be outside. They got a court that can be inside and it's portable. Have a great day. Hey, how you doing, Scott? You're here today at the pickleball. I'm pickleballer. The Pickler Grand Opening. Pickler Grand Opening. So we're doing New Year's resolutions for pickleballers. Tell me, what is your New Year's resolution? I want to become a true 4-0 player. 4-0. Become a true 4-0 player, which means I have to get better at taking drives and a backhand flip. Yeah. Nice. Yeah. And you have an instructor? Not yet. I'm planning on taking lessons here. Smart. He plays a lot. We play a lot together. Yeah. Good luck with that. You'll make it. No problem. I got you. I know you do. I know you got it. Well, thanks. I've never taken a lesson before, so it'll be 100% worth it. 100% worth it. Yeah. All right. Well, thank you for being with us, Scott. Thank you so much. And good luck on your 4.0 journey. You're welcome. Have a good day. Bye. All right, we're here with Alex at the Pickler Grand Opening. He's a Pickler staffer. Yes, sir. And what is your pickleball resolution for 2025? For me, I want to play in a pro qualifier. So I've been consistently playing at the 5-0 level, but I want to take it up a notch. I want to play in a pro qualifier. You know, even if I don't qualify for the main event, you know, playing in that pro qualifier is going to be a huge step up for me. I just watched you play with the pros here. You look pretty good. It looks fun. You look good. Thanks, Dan. Yeah, but good luck with that journey, man. For sure. We'll be rooting for you. For sure. We'll probably see you out there. Yeah. I'm traveling. Thank you, man. Yeah. But thanks for being with us, man. Of course. We'll see you soon. Sounds good. Thanks. All right. We're here with Karen Mamalile. Howdy, everybody. Hello. So we're doing pickleball resolutions for 2025. All righty. Tell me one, two, five, 12 of your resolutions for pickleball in 2025. And you got to leave your phone number so we can call you and check up on you. I got it. Don't worry. Oh, okay. All right. Here's my number. Well, number one is I'm going to drill more for sure. Okay. Nice. Because I got to work on some things. Yeah. My overheads are a little not aggressive. Uh-huh. Not like you, Greg. I don't have a good overhead. You're not aggressive at all. No. His license plate says body bagger. I know. And I've been body bagged by this guy. She has multiple times. You're welcome. I got some tattoos. You're welcome. See, that's why I got to work on that. Copy that. Yeah. And then we'll get good old Dave in here. Yeah. All right, Dave. What's up, fellas? What's up? How you doing? What's up, fellas? What is your 2025 pickleball resolution? One, multiples, it don't matter. All right. The first one's corny, but I want to be a better partner. Copy. I'm going to be in the best partner I can be. That's actually really good. You know what? That's a tough thing because we play the sport as an individual. Right. That's a really good thing. I think it's not corny. I think that more of us need to play together. And when you play with your spouse as much as I do, it's really important. Yeah. It really is. It can be a good or a bad day too. Yeah. I have an alter ego I call the angry leprechaun. And when he comes out, it's not great. No, I've seen him. It's kind of funny. It's not that funny. Not to you, but to me, it's hilarious. It's fun to watch. I'm sure. It's great. And another big resolution for me is I want to get a two handed backhand. Okay. Down by the end of 2025. Those are good. Those are both really good. That's a tough one too. It is a tough one. I struggle with it. I feel like a little T-Rex when I'm trying to do it. Yeah. I love it. I don't do it. Period. You probably don't need to. I can't. It's a terrible shot for me. I like it more from the baseline than from the kitchen line. There's only a few rare instances where I can use it at the kitchen line. If we're thinking it's a high bounce. Yeah. And then it gets shoved down his throat or Karen's throat. Yeah. Better yet. Well, thank you so much. Really appreciate you doing this with us. Thank you so much. We'll see you out there. Yeah. Happy New Year. All right. We're here with Tiff Ash. We'll get to some other stuff in a minute, but we're doing pickleball resolutions 2025. What do you have? All right. I would say I really want to get better at the Ernie and my, I have a cat and his name is Ernie. So I feel like I have to live. I have to make sure I can do that shot. I love to his name. Heck yeah. Okay. So she runs tournaments. You run tournaments, correct? Yes. And I saw one on pickleball brackets recently for Westminster, right? Oh yeah. Lifetime Westminster. Yeah. When is it? So that one will be January 25th and 26th and it's doubles. So we'll have mixed on Sunday and then men's and women's on Saturday. Awesome. Yeah. I'm pretty excited. Yeah. Come play it. We might not be here. When is it? 26th, right? 25th and 26th. We might be here. We might be here. Go check it out. It'll be fun. Definitely. It's at the rec center? It's at the Lifetime Westminster and it's open to the public. So anybody can play. I love it. I love it. Well, thank you and good luck with your Ernie. Thank you. Yeah. I'll come back on here and tell you if I made it. Heck yeah. We'll do that. Thank you very much. Thank you. All right. We're here obviously at the Pickler grand opening with another staffer, Tony. Yeah. What's going on, man? Nothing. We're very excited that everybody came out. We have a good opening. It's really busy. I'm having a good time. Everybody seems to be enjoying themselves. This is an amazing event. Amazing. Seriously, this is an amazing event. Really good. Thank you guys for coming. Of course. You guys are doing a great job. It's very well organized. Really good. That's glad to hear. So 2025 Pickleballer resolution. What do you got? My resolution this year will probably be to play my first four or five singles. Oh, nice. Yeah. Singles is not my jam. Singles. I've been stuck with the four singles and four or five doubles. So I'm going to try to play four or five singles this year. We'll see how it goes. I got murdered playing three five singles against a nine five. Seventy five year olds. Oh, no. Murdered. So singles are not my job. You just got to hit him in the knee. Oh, there you go. That's how you're winning. Allegedly. Well, thanks, Tony, for being with us. We really appreciate it. Happy New Year. Good luck with your four. Oh, four, five, four or five singles. Four or five singles. You got this, man. Thanks. We'll be keeping our eye on you. All right. All right, man. Thank you. All right. Here's a pickler again. Still with the grand opening here. Kyle Yates. How are you doing? I'm stoked. Having a good time. Awesome. Yeah, it's a great event. So we're doing Pickleballer 2025 New Year's resolutions. You have anything? Well, this is this is our newest particular edition of Colorado. We've got one up in Loveland and now we've got Thornton. We're opening actually Cheyenne next week. Oh, nice. And then a couple more next year. So my New Year's resolution is try to open up a couple more facilities because the pickleball community Colorado deserves some nice places to play. 100 percent. This is nice. This is really nice. We put a lot of a lot of work. The lighting, the sound, the courts are big. I mean, they're nice. Thank you. Yeah, this is great. Yeah. No. Awesome job. Yeah. Good. Yeah. So but thank you for being with us, man. I appreciate you. Yeah. All right. All right. We're here with Matt Deaver, Dinkin Deaver on Instagram. If you want to follow. Yeah, we're doing 2025 Pickleballer resolutions. You have anything? Yeah, I think my first one is try and make a main draw. Singles and doubles and probably mix as well. That'd be great. You know, I'm always pulling for you. Yeah, exactly. I got close in 2024, a couple of matches away. Yeah. No, I've been watching 100 percent of the time. Yeah, I appreciate that. Yeah, of course. Yeah. So and that's it for you. Just you want to make the pro draw. Yeah, I really that's the biggest the main draw that main draw. Yeah. Hell yeah. I think you're got you're in. You got it, man. I appreciate 100 percent. You're in. Yeah. It's just a matter of time. Yeah. He's been talking good about you. Yeah. Yeah. I get my jacket. The right partner to carry. That's what it really is. No kidding. I have a hard time finding a partner. Yeah, it can be tough. Yeah. All right, Matt, thank you so much for being with us. Oh, thank you for having me. Good luck. All right. We're here with Dale. I've met him. I played against him in a tournament and I've played with him just for funsies. Was it good? Did you like playing with him? You've won in a tournament, lost to me in a tournament. I lost. I played against him in a tournament with him. No. And I did lose to him. All right. All right. Well, thanks to your partner who totally saved the day on that one. We were about to go home twice and he let us know that we were still alive. I should punch him. Yeah, he's a good dude because we wouldn't know. I know we would have won. I met him for the first time when I was in Virginia. Oh, yeah. Yeah. So, you know, I'm from Virginia. Oh, I didn't know that. Oh, yeah. No, that's my stopping grounds. I'm a church right there in that area. I used to work in Fairfax. OK, lived in rest and earned. And so, OK, my brother lives in Falls Church. And that's where I actually I never met Adrian. I met Taylor. Taylor. Yeah. She was the one who let me know that they lived out there. OK. Probably the same time I did. That's crazy. Yeah. Small, right? Small world. But anyways, what we're doing is twenty twenty five pickleballer resolution. You have anything less banging? Yeah, that's a good one. Good one. Because I got this three paddle now. So I'm trying to just crush everything because I can. Yeah. I want to get back to my old, you know, touch game. Yeah. Precision and well-placed shots instead of just. Right. And a little bit of patience. Yeah. Yeah. So you're a body bagger, too. See, I try to hit it hard, but place it well. This guy hits you. He'll get you on the serve. Oh, yeah. Nasty Nelson's everywhere. I did. I learned that. You didn't see me try to nasty Kyle Yates. He did. It was good. I'm sure it was close to because it was. Yeah, he's he's quick. He's really quick. But that's all. Thank you for being with us. And support for the brand. Hell yeah. Pickle or die. Right now. Check it. Yeah. Well, he's wearing the hat right now. Check it out. Instagram. Pickle or die. Get my merch. Get my merch, baby. Support. Quality stuff. Thank you. All right. We're back. We've had him on the podcast before. Let's go. JP. JP. Hey, man, what's going on? Number two in the books. Heck, yeah. Pickler resident now. Yeah, for sure. So I'll be one of the teaching pros here at the Pickler Thornton. I'm super excited. Then helping with the programming, helping with Dupre stuff, just doing just kind of doing it all, you know, because they couldn't have a better person. This place is outstanding. It is. It is a little unbelievable. It is the nicest courts I've played on in a really long time. Agreed. Agreed. So what we're doing today. Twenty twenty five pickleball resolutions. Oh, dude, you told me to. And I totally. Yeah, OK. Pickleball like for me. Yes. OK. OK. Whether it's you want to hit tournaments out of state, whatever, you know. OK, can I have more than one hundred percent? All right. So my first resolution is and you guys keep me honest about this. If you see me around, ask me about it. I might lie, but who knows? I want to drill. If I play four hours a week, I want to drill for two hours a week. That's a good one. That's really good. That's my number one resolution. OK, my second resolution. I don't even know if this is a resolution, but I want to I want to get more involved in the pickleball community. Yeah. I want to grow pickleball even more in Denver specifically. OK. Denver and Aurora, the Denver Metro. Yeah. Yeah. We're here with you. I know. We're I'm so excited. We're pumped, man. There's so many people here right now. And I'm actually surprised that I know a lot of them. It's crazy. It's like family. It really is like and even, you know, what's so great about pickleball is the people that you haven't seen in like eight months. It's just like you never miss a beat. Right. It's crazy. It's amazing. This morning I posted a picture of the Pickler logo up here. Yeah. And I said, who's coming? I brought out like four people and they were like, oh, thanks for posting. I didn't know it was opening right now. There you go here. See? Yeah. I mean, like, how do we reach all these people? So that's something that I want to focus on, too, is like, how do we reach the people that don't know? Right. We're all in the team reaches and all those things. But let's be honest, it's they get annoying. They get to know all they get so annoying. My my phone battery's dead by noon. Yeah. They're advertising. It's more advertising anymore than it is communicating. Right. For sure. For sure. Yeah. I mean, I do a lot of communicating on Instagram. But even even that a lot of people don't check. Right. So I don't know when I have to come up with something. I think it's the everyday Joe. We don't talk. We just play pick a ball and then go home. Right. You know, it's not like the pros. We're not watching. You know, this is about the people that just want to play. Yeah. So if they could have more communication and I think that's what we're all going to bring to the table. Smoke signals. Smoke. Yeah. I mean, let's go old school with it. You know, maybe set up some Morse code. Yeah. Just broadcast it over the air. Yeah. Boom. One thing that's cool about the Pickler app that you're talking about the messaging, like there's a messaging feature in there. So you can kind of message people maybe if you don't have their phone number and you're a member of the Pickler, you can go in there and slide in those DMs. So I did see that. I did see that. They've done some good work here. Yeah. What's really cool is like so some of these places, I mean, Court Reserve is Court Reserve and a lot of a lot of locations use Court Reserve. And sometimes they they have you can pay an extra to kind of have your app, have your own app, but it's still through Court Reserve. And this might be a hot take, but Court Reserve is very difficult to use. So I'm I'm I'm thankful for the Pickler app, their proprietary app, because I think it's it's super solid. You know, it does everything you want to do. It's not confusing. It's easy to use and it just makes booking a court, booking a lesson, signing up for an open play so easy. And they separate everything. That's what's nice, too. You can go in and look at what you want. If I want to do a lesson with you, I can find you and do a lesson. Right. Yeah. You can go in there. You can you can click, you know, on the lessons tab and go in and see all the pros, see which tier pro they are. Click on them. You can read their bio. You can read all about me. Don't stalk me. Don't be weird. Yeah, I'm going to. Yeah. Let's go, baby. Well, thank you so much. And, you know, we're going to keep you up on your on your resolution. Yeah, please hold me to it. We'll check in here in a couple months and see how I'm doing. Yeah. Pleasure is always JP, man. I fucking love you. Thank you. All right, man. See you, buddy.
