Episode Transcript

Thank you for tuning in. I'm Greg. I'm Mike. And we are the Pickleballers Next Door. We are for the Joes and not the pros. Your court, our court. Thank you for tuning in to Pickleballers Next Door. I am Greg. I'm Mike. And today we are introducing someone that is, we'll go with special to us. Special to us. Yes, very special. Yeah. Christana Elliott. She was or is the owner, one of the owners of A Sweet Sip. And she is going to join us as part of the crew now. She is part of our crew. She's going to be the third wheel here. The voice of reason probably. Well, and you know how this all started, right? When she, I want to do this pickleball. We told her, we warned her. Now look where she's at. So when we got her into it, it was a welcome to the addiction. And now look at it. She wants to be part of the pickleball podcast. She's playing all the time. Yeah, it's, it's bad. Yeah, it's bad. It's good. It's good and bad. Hi, Christana. How are you? Hello. Hi guys. How are you? We're good. We are very good. Well, thank you for bringing me part of this team because it's wonderful. And yes, I am addicted to the pickleball. No, it happens. It's what happens. Yeah. You get a, it's like golf. You know, you get one good hit and one good swing in and you want to come back, but we'll be caught. We'll be calling her to do something together and she'd be like, I'm real busy. What are you doing? Well, I'm really busy. We know what that really busy is. Yeah, but I mean, I played two hours last night with my husband, so it worked really good. We have, you know, we're learning. You're learning. Yeah, that's good. So a sweet sip is going to be out at the, uh, RMC this week, this weekend, this weekend weekend. Um, there'll be right next to us and she'll be in our booth and their booth and she's going to be double dipping. She's going to be doing double duty. Double duty. Yes, I'll be in both. I'm excited to be there for all days. Tell the listeners a little bit about yourself and who you are and what you're about and, and your addiction now. So of course my addition is pickleball, so that's a good addiction. Um, I am actually a Colorado native, so, um, yay. She's a rarity. Grew up in Littleton, went to Columbine high school a long, long time ago. Um, been an entrepreneur since I was 19, had several businesses and the business I'm working on now is a sweet sip and it's a great CBD drink. Helps a lot of people. Um, and now I am part of a great team of pickleballers next door. Yeah, I'm so excited. Yeah. Well you've been, you know, from day one you've been supporting us and our team, our, our little team we've had here and now you're part of the bigger team. Yeah. Well, and I, you guys have supported me too and I'm excited that I was able to be part of it from the beginning with our drinks when you mentioned us a lot. And, um, I'm just excited to be part of this and I'm, I'm just learning. So I will have a ton of questions for you guys because I know you guys are the pros. No, we're not the pros. We're just Joes. We're just Joes. Yeah. Okay. So yay. I'll be asking all the Joes. Yeah. Joes. Exactly. Yeah. Are you ready to, uh, are you ready for what's, what's ahead of us? I, there's a lot of stuff happening this month alone. This week. Yeah. Oh yeah. I look at, um, this whole week, I think we're going to be there from what, Wednesday to, um, Sunday and of course setting up and everything. Yeah. At the Rocky Mountain. Yep. At the Rocky Mountain, uh, championship over at Clement park. So We have Hilton on Wednesday night. Yeah. We have, uh, the 19th, uh, chicken and pickle for a private party. She's like, Oh, what was that? So I guess I don't sleep, but that's okay. Don't worry about sleep. It's all right. I only know the dates. I don't even know what times yet. I just show up. That's how we work here. You just show up at six o'clock and hopefully, you know, they come in within the next four hours. I heard that about you, Mike. You show up for the fun. That's it. The fun in the food. Fun in the food. Well, what happened just a minute ago? We eat. Oh yeah. That was good. Bourbon chicken. Bourbon chicken. I don't know what you guys had that looked like some sort of hot cabbage. It was really good. Oh, the veggies. Yeah. Because I was listening. See, I'm a good partner. Yes. Yes. So I am gluten free, so it's kind of hard to buy food for me, but yeah, it was, it was so good. Chicken and veggies. I had corn and mac and cheese. I know. And rice. I know. Oh yeah. Yes, please. Oh, that mac and cheese looked delicious. I'm going to say. I know, but I couldn't do it for you. Right. It was. It's really good. So they've been here in Denver. I think it's been like 50, 60 years. What's it called? Bourbon chicken. It's actually called bourbon. It's called bourbon chicken. All right. Oh, nice. And you said it was off Colfax? Colfax and Link. Colfax and Pearl. Colfax and Pearl. The really good neighborhood. Yeah. So if you're down in that area, go get some bourbon chicken. It's outstanding. You got to run with your chicken because they try to get it from you. Yeah. Colfax is not the greatest. Yeah. It's not the place you want to hang out. Just got to be careful. Watch your surroundings. So Chrisanne, when you've been playing, what are some of your problem areas? Let's say, I mean, besides everything. Well, I'm pretty much really good here. So the problem is just learning the rules, just making sure, because one of the questions I probably would have and have you guys answer for me, which maybe a lot of people would have, when you are serving and it hits the middle line, is it in or out? It is good. It is good. If it hits the kitchen line, it's out. Any other lines, it's good. Now the player on the other side, we hope that he tells the truth. Yeah. Because they call it on their own. They do. You can't do anything. Even if that looks like it rolled down the line, they can call it out. Yeah. Because I look at that and I'm like, that was in. And they're like, out. And I'm like, really? So, okay. So they are the ones that call it the receiving. Receiving side, whatever side that you're on, you get to call your own shots. Yeah. And the other thing is you'll hear people joking about that was in, but that's tournament out. So in a tournament, it's close enough. You'd call it out. But in rec play, it's just not that big of a deal. Okay. So then, I guess one thing that's really confusing can be the scoring and everything. Yep. I'm learning that. Just get used to that. It'll play you for the rest of your pickleball career. Yeah. We still do it. I have played. We forget who served. We literally didn't remember. The volley went so long that everybody's like, who served that last one? Yeah. It'll forever drive you crazy. So do you call it every time? Is that the rules you should? The rules are that you call your score, their score, and what server, every time you serve. Every time you serve. Every time you serve. And I think in a tournament, if you don't call it, you can actually lose the point. Yep. Lose the point or the serve. There's both. Well, depending if you're the first server, it goes to the second server. If you're the second server, it's set up. Then you just slide out to the other side. So then, um... But if there's a ref, you don't have to worry about it because they call the score. They will call it for you. Oh, you can't serve the ball until they finish calling the score. Oh, okay. And then, um, what about the first serve? Because that's kind of confusing in the fact that, uh, the first one to serve, they only get one chance over there, right? Right. So you're a two. You're a two. Okay. 0-0-2 until you lose the serve, you know, 1-0-2, 2-0-2, because after you're a serve, it's a slide out. So it's like you're the second server, just on the very first serve. So when we teach new people, we go 0-0-start because it confuses them so much with the number two, because we tell them that on the right side, you always start as a one. It blows your mind. So when you start and you start on the Northwest side, right? That's pretty much where you start playing every time. On the right side, 0-0-start. And I've been asked, why? Why is it that way? And you know what my response is? What? Why is a touchdown six points? It just is. This is how it started. Yeah, it just is. So then, um, on another note, who, so when it goes to the other side, is it always on the right side that you serve from? Always start on the right side. Yep, cat a corner, right to right. Always on the right side. And then you switch as you score. Okay. And then it goes to the second server. And then when you guys lose the serve, you might not be on the right side again. You might be on the left side, but it always starts on the right. So you may not serve unless you're the second one always, then what I'm seeing, right? Maybe? Maybe. I'm not understanding what you're saying. So like if you're, so the one on the right is always, so say, say I'm playing with my husband and I'm always on the left because it just happens to be that way. He, you know, I mean like he goes from the right, left to the right again, and then we lose. And then you serve. Yeah. You'll be on the left. Yeah. You can say if he wins and then serves and wins again, then loses on the third time. Yeah. Yeah. You'd still be on the left side. You'd have to win two points for you to be back on the left. Yes. Okay. So just think about this. When you start on the right-hand side, your serve, the score that you call should always be even if you're starting on the right-hand side. So let's say you're 0-0-2, you start on the right-hand side. As long as you're playing in that game, anytime you're back on the right-hand side, your score should be even. Yes. Okay. Yep. Right side should be even, left side should be odd. So if you don't know where you were, you will always know where you're standing. If you started on the left, then you're going to be odd. If you start on the right, you're even. Well, I mean, she's always odd. Right. Yeah. Well, we didn't want to go, yeah. I didn't want to go there. I was thinking it. I did. Well, that's why you guys like me, I think. We do like you. Right? Because we're a little odd. I'm really odd. Well, maybe you'll get lucky and see the naked guy across the way. So I guess only Greg has seen this guy. That's why I sit this way. I don't look at that window. You think he's listening and we can see? Or what? I put you two on that side. I know, right? But do you see, I have something in front of me. Only Greg gets the real view there. Yeah, no. And he opened it up. So I leaned to the side to look and I was like, oh. So for our listeners, we have a hotel that's right across from our big window to their window. I mean, maybe 20 feet. Maybe 20 feet. And if that window's open and they're, they stand there, I guess the one day you were here and they were- He was brushing his teeth when he was- Naked, naked. Full view. Butt naked, bucket acid naked. Yeah, so. Oh, so it's a hotel. It's not somebody living over there. No, this is a hotel. It's a courtyard. Yeah, there's always something in these windows. Oh, nice. These are all curtains. It's a courtyard by Marriott. Yeah. Oh, nice. It's actually a nice place. It's really crazy going there. It's really nice. And we can see the room. I mean, we literally can see their bed, everything. It's when those curtains are open. Yeah. Wow. And they'll wave at us. That one over there, too, to the left, they'll wave at us, too. Yeah. Nice. Yeah. So I sit this way. So you guys are friendly, aren't you? We are friendly. Yeah. Yeah. We're just waiting for an invite to a room, I guess. Yeah, a little sign. Yeah, come over. Hi, I see you. So where are we at? I don't know. You tell me. So I guess more questions, I would think, right? Yes. Is that good? Or where are we? Have you played anywhere except for the Pickler? No. So I've only been at the Pickler. Okay. And so, oh, I know. You know what I was kind of confused is the inside ball and the outside ball. And so since we're playing inside the Pickler, we're still using outside. Yeah. So it's not about whether you're inside or outside. No. Yeah. It's about the court surface. Yeah, what the surface is. So that court surface is an outdoor court surface. Okay. So use an outdoor ball. Yes. The indoor balls have bigger holes and there's less of them and the ball's softer. So those are made for like gym floors and like the rec centers and that kind of stuff. I can hear them. I can literally hear them when somebody hits one. Yeah, I hate those. Oh, and it's this awful sound. It's like a child screaming. Oh, okay. Burn with fire. Yeah. Oh, wow. So no, you'll know the difference. Like it's a whole other game. If you play, I challenge you to go try in the rec center and it's a new game. And the people that play in rec centers are really good in the rec centers. And people that play outside are really good outside. Outside. But it's a tough one to be both. Because not only the ball and the bounce and the court's different, but the lighting is so terrible. Because you'll get, you have a bunch of like neon light and not neon. What is it? Whatever lights, the normal lights. It's a basketball court. Yeah. And then you have natural light coming in from outside and they don't mix well. No, it doesn't do well. I can see that. But you give it a try. I'll tell you how I like it. So I've only played at Pickler. So where would you suggest me to go try around? Anywhere and everywhere. Okay. Everywhere. Well, with us, you're going to be everywhere. So yeah, we're going to be at a climate park this weekend. Yep. And of course, those are outdoor. Well, bring yourself always. We'll go warm up. We'll play. We're actually going to have Scott there with the pop-up pickleball courts. And so we're going to actually be there right in front of us. We're going to help him with some of the demos and stuff. So we'll go over there and we'll do some training this weekend. Oh, that'd be fun. So you can see my amazing skills that I have. I want to see. Yes. We're going to teach you how to body bag. Yes. I need that. That way, when you're angry with your husband. Have you already done some moves on him when you play singles? You know, actually I have, but you know what? He always does a dirty Dave on me. A dirty Dave? Who's dirty Dave? How do you dirty Dave? Isn't that like a dirty dog or dink, dirty dink? No, no, no. Oh. So it's the nasty Nelson. Nasty Nelson. Okay. This could be a dirty Dave. This could be something you guys are playing. I don't know. I think that's a different podcast altogether. I think this is a home game. Yeah. Okay. We got to be. Yeah. No. And nobody was there. So, you know. Oh, sorry. We couldn't have had a dirty Dave there. Yeah. Okay. So isn't there a dirty dog somewhere? No. Dirty dog. No dirty dogs. Only Ernie's. Okay. Mike's a dirty dog. I'm a dirty dog. Do you ever get called a dirty dog when you're doing this? No. I've been called a son of a bitch, a bastard, but nothing. Not a dirty dog. Okay. So it's a nasty Nelson. I think that might offend me. Yeah. Okay. It would offend you? I don't know. Dirty dog. I don't know. You dirty dog. I call people dirt bags. Maybe we start that. We'll be like. It will be a new term. Yeah. It'll be a start alert. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. No, I don't think. Yeah. Why don't we start something? We need to start that. We need to start something. The pickleballers next door own call. Right. Exactly. I like it. But yeah. So what was the dirty Dave though? What did you do? So actually he has a really good serve. He's serving to me. You know, I'm behind the back line, right? Ready for that long serve. And he puts it right in the corner, right by the kitchen. Yeah. I think that's a dirty dog or Dave. I always say that's. That's a dirt bag. That's a dirt bag dirty move. But is that a good move? Yeah, it is. When you're playing. If you're serving it. If you're receiving it. No. Well, and it's hard when you're by your. Well, I guess you're going to be always on that side anyway. So it doesn't matter. Your partner can't return the serve. No, that's true. Yep. Okay. So I guess I got to learn and watch the opponent. Well, and it could, you know, I don't know what that really, that could be. We could, that could be the new dirty Dave. Yeah. Now we understand. We thought we were talking about a nasty Nelson. Okay. Do you know what a nasty Nelson is? No, I don't. Can you explain for me? It's like a chokehold and retinol. Just kidding. So that's what I gave Dave after the dirty day. I believe that I will do a drop, kick over the net. But, um, a nasty Nelson is when you're, you're playing doubles. Okay. And you or your partner is receiving and the other one's forward, right? And the person serving the ball hits the person that's forward. Oh, wow. Yeah. And you do it on purpose. Oh, okay. He likes to do this. So you be careful. You hit him. And then I get the point. You get the point. Cause the ball hit him. They're not supposed to touch the ball. And just be aware too. If you're receiving a serve on the, behind the baseline and you catch the ball in the air. Yeah. You don't get the point. You have to let it bounce. Oh, wow. Yeah. Okay. So don't catch the ball. Don't let it hit you when you're behind the line. Okay. Because that's their point. That's just like a nasty Nelson. Yeah. Okay. So you try to hit people is what I'm understanding. That's his license plate. I do. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. He'll give you dirt, nasty Nelsons. And he's got some nasty serves. So maybe they should be nasty Greggs. No, no, not having anything named after me. I'll name something after you. I bet. Oh, yeah. I thought that was on the chalkboard. What you were naming. Oh, oh, oops. Sorry. I guess it's not chalkboard anymore. Yes. Oh yeah. No, this is our whiteboard. Yes. Sorry about that. I just wanted to stop and say, if you're looking for some on-court or off-court swag, funny, funny, funny, funny stuff, casualdinkerpickleball.com. It's 25% off for the year of 2025. So go get your stuff before it's too late. Yeah. What a great stuff. I mean, you still have six months, but don't let that drag by. Well, you don't want to get in the Christmas shipping. Yeah. Is that too? Yeah. I mean, you'll be here before we know it. Oh, yeah. But that's the scary part. You'll be going, wow. And while you're on there, go grab some Pickle or Die merch and support Pickle or Die. I heard he's a pretty beast. He's all right. You know, I did a lot of research on that guy. Oh yeah, you're right. He's a badass. Well, yeah. Yeah, no, awesome. He is awesome. I mean, and like I said, did you listen to that episode with him? Yeah, I did not. I need to. Oh, I'm a bad one. Just remember the clowns. I've been, oh, Greg's actually like looking away from me right now. What? No, I've been, I have been listening, but not, I have not listened to that one. I am dedicated. Yeah, there we go. Oh, I knew, I knew that question was going to be. You're off the show. That's it, yeah. I could have just lied. You could have lied. You would have never known. Well, yeah, you should have said, oh, yeah, yeah. That was a good one. Then we would have quizzed you. Yeah, we were, I was waiting, yeah. I would ask you about the clowns. Right? Yeah. So maybe, I'll have to see, you know, my memory. Oh, see, see, all of a sudden she's remembering. The clowns, some clowns. Some clowns. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, clowns. I remember clowns. So we are going to be at the RMC, the Rocky Mountain Championship this week. From Wednesday. From Wednesday to Sunday. Sunday. Come by and see us. Please. We might have some stuff for you. Or just a hug. A hug, definitely a hug. Bring some barbecue. I don't know, maybe not a hug. It's going to be hot as hell. Yeah, it might be sweaty, so that might not be a good hug. It would be a sweaty hug. It's going to be 80s out there. Yeah, it might be sweaty and stinky, but you'd still get it. And go see the booth right next door to us. A Sweet Sip. Sweet Sip. Yeah, I'll be there. I'll be coming back. Yeah, get your CBD drink. Yeah. Chill out, take the edge off before you start playing. Yeah, because we play tournaments, and you'll see how nervous people are. I mean, you're fine once you open that gate and go in. It's just like you're in front of a million people. Whole different game. It really is. Well, I mean, I was a little nervous just playing, you know? Because when you're a new person, you're like, okay, I want to do the court that's all the way in the corner that nobody's watching. So, but I understand. And then we're going to be, what else do we have going on this month? This month, so somehow, I don't know how we're going to pull it all off, but we do have the Chicken and Pickle. There's a private event that we're going to, which is for us. That's exciting because it's free food and free drinks. And just to kind of thank you for all of us that's been helping. Yeah, that's going to be fun. That's how you got me on the podcast. That's how we did it. Right? Yeah. And then Relish, I'm thinking we're trying to get, Relish is supposed to open up on, I know, I know, Friday. Oh, that's going to work. What I'm thinking about is one of us is there. We'll just have to do remote. One of us will be there and do some interviews and do both. So we'll figure it out. It's funny, you know, we went from, what are we going to talk about? And where are we going to go to people calling us? I had three calls last week that people want to be on our podcast to talk about products or different things, which is for us, that's awesome. That's incredible. You know, we've worked hard and had a lot of fun. We haven't asked nobody for nothing, but just to listen to us and support us. Oh, yeah. That's how we found out you. Yeah. And then, um, in July we have, well, we have the steamboat. It's called the mountain town classic. There's another part of the RMC. That'll be nice. That's going to be a nice July 24th ish. Yeah, we got to get a room. You keep telling me. Yeah. Yeah. We were going to get a room up there. So yeah, one bed, sleeping bags, a tent. I'll be in the bathtub, I guess. So next, we'll go back up a little bit. Actually, the 24th is the chicken and pickle grand opening, which we will be there. Which is June 24th. June 24th. Did I say July? No, no. I was just, we were talking the 24th of July. June 24th, the following week, come out to the chicken and pickle. Now, I, you know, we like food, so this is, I mean, we like playing pickleball, but they have really good food there. I'm hoping that we're not disappointed from Kansas City to here. I don't think so. I don't think so either. It's just, you know, it's just kind of a run-of-the-mill chicken and pickle build. I was there the other day and smelled, they're all their employees. They have 190 employees. Hell yeah. Wow. It smelled so good. That's amazing. I had a fork and I kept, hey, look over there. Yeah. I snuck in there maybe, what, two months ago? You did when there was three months ago. Actually, it was more than that. I think it was during Christmas time. Yeah. I walked out onto the freeway and jumped the fence. Really? Yeah. And I walked in. There was nothing. They were getting there, but it wasn't no courts or nothing. It was, it was very rough still. There were no courts. None of the appliances were in. They had the refrigerator in, but, you know. Well, and I can't wait. No food. I'm trying to get a VIP. No food. Yeah. And the next, the next place is the Relish, which is eight restaurants in there. So I'm hoping we're the pod, we're as a podcasters, we're going to get a VIP to each one of them. That would be awesome. You need to try them, right? Yeah. Yeah. I know there's a coffee bar, there's a dessert bar, and then there's a bunch of other good stuff. Oh yeah. Dessert bar? Dessert bar. Holy shit. I know, I know. There's, I'm telling you, we're going to, it's, we're going to spend a day there. That'd be really fun. Yeah. So yeah, they're not supposed to open up this week on Friday. They're trying, they, this is a big establishment. $32 million is what I've heard this, to open this. Wow. Two years. Five. Five years. Five years. Yeah. They whiteboarded and then whiteboarded. So was that the soft opening that you did? There was a soft opening. It was a real soft opening. For relish, right? Yeah. Yeah. My partner was having fun while I was trying to open, do the, the soft opening. No, Greg, that was you? I was in California. You had a nice time, I know. Yeah. Oh yeah, it wasn't the worst. And then, isn't, in August, aren't we heading to, uh. Pickle con. Pickle con. August is intense, I think. Woo hoo. You ready for that, Krisanna? I am. You are going to get your pickle ball in. You know what that week is? My birthday. Oh yeah. So when we're at pickle con, you see us. Come say hi. Come wish, uh, Krisanna a happy birthday. Yep. And then we'll, uh, we'll have a, uh, whoever wishes her a happy birthday first, we'll have a special prize for her. A special prize. And we have a special paddle for her, so. Yeah. I haven't, I'm yet to see this. Well, we just found out. Yeah. But, uh, yeah, that you're, you are going to get more pickleball than you ever wanted. You're going to be a pro. You probably will come back and ready to get in the PBA. What? The PPA. The PBA. PPA. PBA is bull riding. That's what I was talking. Is you're going to be able to be a bull rider. I'm going to be ready to do that. I'll be, after I play all the pickleball. Ride that bull. So last year we were there, we played. Oh my God. We drove in straight to the convention center and played for eight hours. Eight hours straight. Wow. There is ongoing play. There's almost a hundred courts and we will be, we're actually hosting with somebody this year. We're going to be hosting out with Scott with the pop-up pickleballs. So we'll all be together with him, but you will play some pickleball every day. So I'll be at the beginner one. They're just play. It's a lot of fun. It'll be fun. Who was this? It was Swish. Swish. So Swish is usually there, which I think there'll be probably there again, but they're an app and they just, they use their app as to put you into play and you have a lot, you play. Oh, nice. Yeah. And then we made a lot of friends or he already had lots of friends. You're going to, you guys have friends. He does. I don't. Oh, everywhere we went, it's like everywhere. I had to be his bodyguard. No autographs today. Sorry. Wow. Yeah. We went to the PBA. The what? The what? Say it again, Mike. Until you do it right. PBA. P. P. A. PPA. Like pee pee? Like pee pee. And I, he said, I'll be gone. I'm going to go. I'll be back. And there's a tent. It's like these courts, what do they call them? The, uh, the ones you set up in the bleachers. I look across the other bleachers. There he is with people. I look down. There he is with people. He's just, it's like, he's like, he's famous. He is. I'm not. I'm not. Wow. So I probably should get his autograph. Because he may not. Yeah. Or he may not want to give me one later. I don't know. I mean, when we're there, I might not even pay attention to you. You won't. You may. Are you? Yeah. Are you? Pee on. A man. Wow. No, I'm kidding. She's in the beginner side of this. I don't know her. Oh yeah. So have you seen, there's a, um, there's a t-shirt out there that a guy from, God, who is it? Is he, is it Chris Olson that makes it? Um, from another podcast. And, uh, it says three, five at best. That's good. We're going to get a shirt that says two zero at best and give it to you. I love it. Two zero at best. I like it. That's okay. I'll wear it proudly. My son got me a good one for father's day this weekend. Uh, it says retirement. It has a pickleball on a paddle. Oh, nice. Bam. Yes. You're ready. Do you ever wear shirts though? Is this the weirdest thing you wear? I never wear shirts. Well, I hope, I hope we all wear shirts. Yeah. Well, I hope we wear shirts. I might get in trouble, but you wear a shirt and you forget what you put on and it has some saying on it. And people either they're gawking at you or they make comments and you're like, what are they doing? Yes. Like you forget eating ass taking. Yeah. So, uh, I was wearing that shirt cause my son got it for me and everywhere I'd go, I was like, I'm going to do that. And I was like, yeah, you do that. And I forget that you do it. You can do it. Yeah. So yeah, it was nice. I had a nice, it was father's day this weekend, which was awesome. Yeah. So it was nice. Yeah. It is nice. So you have a, how many children do you have? So I have, so Dave, my husband has two sons and then I have a daughter and a son. Nice. Yeah. So they're all good kids. It is. Yeah. So you were a father, mother sometimes. I am sometimes. I said that I put out a little thing saying father, mother. Sometimes you gotta be a mother, father. Yeah. Yeah. So that's awesome though. It's a lot of work. It is, but I would never change it. It's, it's been the best thing. It is. I, uh, I, yeah, I mean, it's what you look forward to. Pretty soon you get older. I don't want to say I'm old, old, but I'm getting older. You're not. Hey, I'm not. I'm the young blood in here. You are. Oh yeah. That's right. You want some advice afterwards? Negative. Not what to do. Yeah. Not what to do. I've gotten some pretty bad advice before. We got good advice. Oh, that's, that's what happened, Mike. This is the Pickleblogs next door. We're going to give you good advice. I mean, I was in Venice beach and I got, um, some of the worst advice from a crackhead once. Yeah. It wasn't good. It wasn't good. I probably wouldn't down here on 16th either. Take a lot of advice. No, no, no, no. Just on the second floor at this building. Yeah. We're very good. Yeah. Yeah. And third. So you can get mothered and fathered here. Yeah. I can't wait. That's my favorite thing. Yeah. But so we're looking forward to pickle con. You're going to have a great time. It was a lot of fun. Um, you'll be wiped out. I mean, I know we'd get home at nine or 10 and we were just gone back at like eight or nine in the morning. So we got to plan all the details of the trip and everything. Right. Where do you stay? Funny thing about that is we went to the convention center, um, played for eight hours and was like, Oh, well, I think we should go find a hotel now. Yeah. Well, the PPA was there. So this place is a good job. I did it. I did it. Well, this was going on. So this place is packed with pick wallers. We didn't think about that. Right. We get it. We got in our little van and there we go. And this is our first date, right? Yeah. It's our first. This is our, when we stared in each other's eyes and we drove, I mean, he was always busy though, but he, I didn't know what he was always doing to go silent. And then he's, he's putting out something on the, uh, on Instagram. Yeah. That's what I do. Um, and then after that, we, uh, just what we have scheduled and there might be other stuff in between stuff. Who knows what's going to happen? August. We have the grand Mesa open, which is in grand junction. It's a third part of this RMC. Yeah. That'd be awesome. That should be good. It should be a lot cooler. Luckily it's not in grand Mesa right now. Cause it'd probably be like 178. Do they make a tent that fully encloses and we could put an air conditioner unit in it? Well, you can put sidewalls up. So then you could probably cook an air conditioning in there. Yeah. We're going to need it. Yeah. I think this weekend is going to be a hot one. That's what I've been talking about. I like it. I like it. So come see us. We might have air conditioned booth. We might. We may be the only one. Or a fan going with our hand. A minster. Yeah. It might be $5 for 10 minutes to come in and just cool off. That's a different booth. Yeah. It's not a comfort booth. Hugs for five bucks. Hugs and air conditioning. Do you know who's coming? What are the, is there any, what vendor food vendors are coming? I don't know. I don't know. I didn't ask that question. But the one thing they are going to have is beer, which is different than from the past. And if you get to see a guy named Ricky, you won't miss him. You'll hear him. You can be on the other side of the court and you'll find him. Full of energy. Full of energy. Yeah. He's a great guy. But a great guy. I mean, he is taking this to a new level. He's there every day. I mean, he is putting sweat into this, sweat equity. So it's awesome. His parents are really nice too. But you can see where he gets his energy. Yeah. They're the same energy. Yeah. I think Ricky's just a little bit notched up. But I mean, they're all pretty high energy. It's great. Not in a bad way. They're just very positive. Very energetic. But there's gonna be a bunch of vendors there. I like what he's doing too for the vendors. You have to get a signature. Passport. Passport. And he'll give you a shirt. I think at the end of it, you have to go to every vendor, have them sign off and then. That's really good because that helps a lot of the vendors. You know, at least make sure that somebody will come in and at least talk to them and know what they have. The other thing is you can't, it's going to have a one, two entrances. Yeah. And one of them is right up vendor row. So you have to kind of have to walk through it. And we'll be kind of, I don't want to say the word. Cause you're getting mad at me. We're MC in it. Not DJ. Thank you. And we're not live. We're not live. I say all these things and he's always like, we're not any of those. We're not a DJ. We're not. We're not going to be live. There you go. That was really good. I liked your skills. I just DJ. I don't know. I'd beg to differ, but okay. Okay. So back to the vendors. How many vendors? I think there's 25 of when I last counted. I mean, we went out there and this is what has been really nice. He respects us. He's supported us and he's asked us to come out. We've helped like, cause we've been there. We've been in the good, you know, these tournaments are tough. It's a lot of people and you have a lot of different, uh, different personalities. Let's put it that way. So you're trying to, to adapt to all those different people. So he's asked us since we played in it a few times to help like what could make it better. And I think he's doing a good job. I think so too. And there's a lot going to be a lot of shade, a lot of coverage. He's putting tents up around. He's putting seats. It's known to be a really hot tournament. Yeah. Yeah. Well, how many players? 713 ish. And when you have the families and friends and everybody, you'll have thousands of people. So it's a really good turnout. So if you're going get there early, because parking is going to be in, probably going to be a nightmare if I'm being honest, because I'm sure they're going to have baseball tournaments and softball tournaments. Oh, they do. It's busy. And if you get stressed out, come to the booth next door. It's a sweet, sweet, sweet sip. And see, I do that. But I know. Come on. Here we go. Get a seat. Sweet. And it'll calm you down. The CBD. Oh, yeah. It will calm you down. And if you get lost too, you know, we will find your parents. Yes. Yeah, we can probably won't get lost. So we'll be emceeing. So you'll hear a lot of us. You'll hear us on the mic. You'll hear us on the big mic. And yeah, but please come see the vendors because they work hard. This is their life. Lifelihood. You know, even us as podcaster. We're there to make friends. Yeah. So please say hi. We're just we're happy to introduce Chris Anna. I am so happy. This is this is I look forward to this. As you can see my smile on my face. I really it's the only one exciting that doesn't have a face for radio. Yeah, we. Mike and I have a face for radio. And you'll see this soon. We're going to we're going to be going live. No, we're going to video. We're not going live. God damn it. What does that mean? I don't have a face for. You have you don't have a face for radio. It means you are not ugly. Yeah, we're we're ugly. We have a face for radio. Yeah, you don't. Because I've had this when we went to an event. And they're like, I've heard your voice. And then they give me that little start when they see me. That voice comes out of that. That voice comes out of that ugly face. Yeah, I said. Wow. Now I know it doesn't match. No, it's all good. That's funny. Yeah, we were making that up. No, I actually seriously. We're at a opening of the Pickler. And and someone says, I hear that. I've heard that voice before. And then looked at me and gave me a smile. I'm like, was that good or bad? It was good. It was different. It was. I just wasn't expecting. You guys aren't going to be doing YouTube, are you? I said, yes. He got a little weird look, too. Just kidding. But there was there's been people that because you only hear our voices. Yeah, you don't see us. But we're getting famous in our voices. I don't know. I mean, I guess we have weird. I think my voice is weird. We ever hear yourself talk. When I talk to myself, I do in the mirror. I know it's all right. So anybody listening out there, why don't you tell us if we sound like anybody that, you know, or famous or whatever? I've been told something of quite a few times. But let's see what you guys come up with. Yeah, yeah. Let's see what happens. That'd be funny. Yeah, it'd be kind of fun. So this is awesome. I mean, always this is the the three that I was going to say. How do you call it? Not the threesome, but the three of the trio. There you go. Yeah, and a lot of fun. I mean, we really needed your energy because all we talk about is food. I'm full, so we didn't talk a lot of it. Full of it. Yeah, well, let's wrap this up because I want to get out of this 148 degree studio. Yeah, this is what it was like when you were in San Diego having a good time. Thank you. Yes, you're welcome. I wasn't there. But yes, you're welcome. Well, I'm Mike. I'm Greg. And I'm Christana. Thank you guys for listening to The Pickleballer's Next Door. We'll catch you next week. Thank you so much. Peace. See you. Bye.
