I'm good, how are you Mike? Good, here we are at the Relish, huh? Relish, you know what I came yesterday and did that lab with Mari Humberg it was amazing this is an amazing place and it's really quite accommodating. Well, and Denver Iconics put this on, right? They were the one that put this together so we could have this pro here Yeah, Gail, she's the one that kind of orchestrated it all and Gail Hook and so from the Denver Iconics Do you know what's weird right now though? No, what's weird? Every time when you said Relish I feel like a hot dog You know, well, is that because you look like a hot dog? Could be, could be both. When you say Relish, you know, I mean I think of a nice juicy good hot dog with Relish on it. Do you like Relish? No What is wrong with you? I'm going to shut this podcast up right now You know what, my mom and my aunt used to make homemade Relish and everybody died for that Relish but I just couldn't eat it. No, right I'm a little picky. Yeah, gosh, Relish, so you don't have it like in your like you don't make it in some of your like Dodo eggs and things like that? No. What is wrong? What is a Dodo egg? Oh my gosh, you know what a Dodo egg is? No, is that a pickleball? No, we're not even, alright, we'll get out of here. I'm sorry but it's a, what do you call the eggs that are cut in half and then you fill them back in? That's a deviled egg. But we call them Dodo eggs, you never heard that? Dodo eggs. The Flintstones used to have Dodo eggs but they were giant No, I've never had one. Yeah, that's a sign. Why would you go home after being here? This is a beautiful place, Relish. It is Relish. Oh, there we go, I want a hot dog. Yeah, another hot dog. No, it's really nice but even look at the colors, looks like Relish. Yeah, so do you know what the meaning behind it is? What is it? I don't. I thought you were telling me. Maybe somebody likes hot dogs? You know what, whoever knows the meaning of Relish, will you guys message us and we'll take it on? I think they did tell me what it was about but anyway, I don't know, it has something to do with pickleball. Really? Yeah, after you eat a hot dog and put Relish on it. Maybe, I'm not sure, Mike. Anyway, we have to thank the Denver Iconics here, you know, Gail, she has put this together, she's awesome and she's a busy lady too. Yeah, oh, they all are. Thanks to Jen and Mario, I mean, the owners of the Denver Iconics all three of them, they're just wonderful people. How they keep up with it all. I mean, they just finished their season, they teach, they run, they got to get a whole new team, they're adding teams, I've heard this year. We don't know for sure. We don't know, I know. There's something coming up. There should be something. So, but anyway, we're here tonight and they're doing, we did the class with, I don't want to say her name, mom. Mari. Mari. Hunsberg. Hunsberg. She is awesome. You know, guys, I play at a good level, you know, but when you get to play with a pro that plays all the time, oh my gosh, it's nuts. She just like, it's just nothing for them because they, you know, that's what they do for a living, like she says. Yeah, and you know, the smile that she has on her face, she's got a really sweet smile. Yeah, she's super cute. Brazilian, right? She's from Brazil. She's from Brazil. Brazil, her family's there, tennis background, loves tennis because she says in Brazil, they're not much pickleball. Yeah, it's not like tennis and I guess tennis is really big there. Yeah, there you have it. She said there's a few people that are on the top, you know, the top 30, yeah, top 30 that are in tennis. So it's pretty awesome. She's actually going to be, she's going to be doing some videos and training videos and she does them both in Brazil or Portuguese. Portuguese. There went that tongue twister. And English. And English. So what a cool thing. She's just a great person, but we're here tonight there. She's finishing up. She's been going full blast at this for the last two days. Well, look at her right now. She's actually playing some of the pros from Relish. Yeah, she's here giving them a little heads up. But she's awesome. I mean, you guys, I'm sure if you look her up, you're going to see that she's at the pro level there. I think she plays in the, is it the APP? I'm not real sure. I think possibly. It's getting so confusing anymore. There's the APT, ABSS and MPP and PPA. Did you used to call them? Don't I? Yeah. I used to call it. Yeah. The bull riding. Yeah. The P the P the P B a professional bull riding association. Let's actually pick a ball. PPA. Right. I'm getting it now. No, I know. It takes me a couple, about a year. Yeah. I'm taking that, you know, I'm taking, no, I'm taking that new medicine that you can buy at the store and it helps your memory and everything. Are you really? I really do. Oh, what is it? It hasn't working. Prezadone or Prezadone or whatever it is. I just put it in my mouth, take it in. I think that's actually another drug. Maybe I'm doing the wrong one. Yeah. But anyway, you're, look at you, you're coming up. I am proud. I mean, you know, I know we give you a hard time, but I got to tell you, I mean, yesterday you were playing in a three to three five and you're holding your own. I mean, I know we gave you a lot of hard time, but you are coming up in the world. You want to compete someday. Oh yeah. Oh, you're going to, I mean, you can't help it, but to do that. I don't know what I mean, but you, you know, we, like I said, when you came on the podcast, you really knew nothing. Two oh. Two oh, two on her best. Three oh. I know you're a three oh now, so you're all right. Hello. Hi, this is Jen from the Denver Iconic. Hi. And this is Jen from the Denver Iconics. And would you guys like a drink from the bar? Um. You know, would you like a drink from the bar? Yeah. I mean, I like, uh, I don't drink, but I, yeah, I like a ginger ale. Ginger ale is really good. He likes those boofy like cocktails. Well, I was telling her too. I said, every time I think of relish, I want a hot dog with some relish on it. And then these colors are the same. She doesn't eat relish. Do you like relish? I like relish, but I don't eat hot dogs. Okay, well, and they're not good for you, but a good hot dog with relish, a good hot dog. So we got Jen from the Denver Iconics. I'm going to ask her this question. Here, we can start on here. We just turn her on and put her on. Hold on one sec. Hold on. Okay, here she is. Hello. Hi, Jen. Hi, guys. There she is. Hey. Our favorite person. We have a question for you. Why did they name relish, relish? Do you know? I would think it goes with pickles. That's what I was telling you. I was like, this is like relish, like, you know, like, like pickles. Relish, like the relish on a hot dog. One of us is smart. That's why we need you around us. I'm taking that. I'm taking that medicine that's supposed to help, but I don't think it's doing much. The medicine that he was, I think it's a drug. I bought it from King Soopers and it says I'm supposed to get smarter. Is that that Prevagen? Yes, that's Prevagen. I thought I had Prevagen or something. He's had prednisone or something. I don't think it's working though. I better take a couple more extra. I'm not going to say it again. Jen, what's it called? Prevagen? Yes, that's it. It is. It's supposed to help. I don't know. I'm getting older. I need that, you know. Okay. All right. I'm getting older and I haven't thought about it yet. You're lucky, but you're a lady. Ladies are smarter. I don't know. You know what? We multitask. We do. That's what I'm saying. I don't have a lot of... Yeah. This guy's just kind of one task, you know. One at a time. You guys are like, oh, over here, there, there, over here. Oh, I'm gone. Done. This is great though. I mean, what a great thing you guys put on tonight again, you know. You talked to us in about an hour. What's going to happen? In about an hour, in less than about an hour, like 10 minutes, we're going to have... Well, Mari Humberg, who is with the MLP, is going to play with some of our pros from the Denver Iconics. I like that. So we have Ann Corson, who I see is walking right up. We have Bill Muno. Wow. We have my husband, Mario Boschi. We have Rachel Oxenden and Scott Fligelman. Love it. So it's going to be fun. It's going to be good. Really good. And down here at the, you know, the pickle relish place. Or up here, I should say. I mean, Denver is up. And, and this is such a great, this is a thing that our partner, Gayle Hook, who just joined us as a part owner of the Denver Iconics, she's put this on. She met Mari and Mari was willing to come out. And this is her gig. And it's been, it's been amazing. I took the 60 plus Prevagen, you know, clinic yesterday. It wasn't Prevagen. I did okay. Yeah. I was a little nervous at first. Cause I, I thought, oh, 60, I'm, you know, I'll be okay. Cause I'm a good player, but I'm not, I'm not an iconic player. Like my, my players are. And I think I was a little nervous. I wasn't even nervous. I mean, she makes you nervous, but what a great coach. She's a very good coach. She's direct with fun. She's still smiling while she's telling you you're doing something wrong. And yeah. How about moving up at that? Oh yeah. I mean, I was sweating, jinking. Oh yes. And I, you know, I'm normally playing. I look at my little sport watch and it's like, oh, your heart rate's like 94. It's not really going very well. Yesterday it was up and I was moving and I can't wait. Yeah. I can't wait to get back on the court and, and do that. I mean, those moves. So you learned exactly. I ran some. Well, she was funny. Isn't it? Right. We want to observe our serve. Like, look how beautiful that was. And you know, what are we doing? You know, so we didn't get, we didn't get to observe her. No, we didn't get, no, she told that, but that's what she said. We, most of the time we like to watch and serve and the returns. Yeah. The return and then you don't move up. Yeah. You don't move up. You wait till your partner hits it and everything. You admire yourself. Or even when you're up at the net and you have like this killer shot and you're like, you think I'm done. And then all of a sudden it comes back. You're like, what? So she's, it was a really great lesson to be ready for that. You hit that great one and now be ready for the next one. Oh yeah. Like you do not even take that consideration of a thought. Like. Well, you know, she told me my, I, I leave my paddle down. Sometimes I get laziness. She asked if I was digging worms. Not yet. I'm not going fishing yet. Season's over. Oh yeah. Season's over. But this is, yeah, Gail did such a great job. She's here. She's on top of it, but she's all, you know, this lady, you have the Gail. She is just a, she is just a beast. She just gets things done. She is. And kind as the day is long and such a great promoter of this sport. I mean, if you don't know Gail Hook, she is, you know, she's been a basketball coach. She was an assistant basketball coach for the WNBA. I mean, she's got great connections here in Louisville, Lafayette and Boulder and, and also in Denver and just a, just a stellar lady. She really is awesome. I've got to know her and you want to play her. She does. He comes and she'll bring it on, on the court. And she's tall. She is tall. She's got those. You aren't, you're not lobbying over her. I know. Yeah. I'm like, you know, five, four, they're always going over my head. I can't joke. Don't you go there. I'm shrinking, but not that far yet. So, but no, we thank you. And again, for bringing us out and being part of you and this great event and being part of it. You know, I think it's so important as a podcaster. It's nice. We sit on the sidelines, but you have to be involved. You know what I mean? But you got to be involved in it. So you get to actually tell people what you wouldn't, when it comes up again, or they get to go do one of these, what it's like. That's what's fun about it. Yeah. And the rumor on the street is that Mari just loves being here at Relish and working with this crew that she may come back next year. So I, I really hope that happens. We'll be signing up again. More listeners to come out and enjoy this. I almost got slapped. Cause like I'm teasing her, you need some oxygen. Yeah. She's like, I'm sweating, but I'm not moving. I said, that's because your body, there's no oxygen. Your body's working hard right now. We're used to it. We're like goldfish or one of those fish betas that don't need no oxygen. I didn't know that. Hot dogs. We'll be asking the next person about the fish that don't need oxygen. Pickles in Relish. Pickles in Relish. Yeah. Maybe I'm just hungry and I'm thinking of a hot dog with Relish. So that's where it's at. Well, I'm really grateful you guys are here too. And, uh, yeah, so we'll, uh, talk to you. We'll be back soon. Every professional athlete from football to tennis relies on electrolytes to stay strong and recover fast. Why? Because sweat takes away more than water. It drains essential minerals like sodium and potassium. Without them, your body slows down and your game slips. Pickleball is no different. That's why Holi is packed with the electrolytes you need to stay sharp, fueled and ready to play longer. Visit holiperformance.com. And we're here with, uh, Mari Humberg. Um, she's a professional pickleball pro and she's here doing some clinics at the Relish, um, pickleball in Louisville, Colorado. Hi, Mari. How are you? You're struggling with my name today. I know because I just said, I should have never said that. That's right. Thank you for having me. Yeah. Happy to be here. It's actually a little confusing, uh, the town's name because I lived in Louisville, Kentucky for eight years and I want to say Louisville and I get yelled at here. I can't say Louisville. Kind of like your name. Yeah, I know. I always tell people it's like Calamari, but without the Cala. Yeah. Then they remember. Yeah. That's awesome. I like that name. Yeah. Yeah. My full name is Mariana, but people say Mariana and I really dislike that. That's a beautiful name. Thank you. If they say it properly. Right. They won't. Right. They murder it. Yeah. In Portuguese it's different. So it's tough when I moved to the U.S. It's, uh, changed a little bit. Yeah. So tell us what you think here with all the clinics and, uh, I mean, we loved it. I know Mike and I did it and we loved it. Yeah. Yeah. Thank you. We had a good time. I, yeah, I got my serve better. I got a little more power on my serve. That's good. So that's the hope. Yeah. But, uh, and it was fun to play you. You know, you think you're doing well until you really play a pro and then you feel like you don't know how to play no more. Yeah. That's, that's fair. I mean, we do this for a living, so I mean, we need to be decent at it, but this club is incredible. Uh, 19 indoor courts with a food court right next to it. Uh, that's not the best thing ever though. It's amazing. I know. And they have every type of food, coffee. Exactly. I just like the little booths over there. No one knows I'm here. No, it's been great so far. So the hospitality has been great. The club is great. Uh, courts are well surfaced and good spacing between all of them. So I've done six clinics so far. Wow. Oh my gosh. You're a little tired. A little bit tired. And you've got to go tell, yeah, you got to go tell what seven tonight. Or I have to go until yeah. Seven o'clock tonight. Yep. So we got a lot more work to do, but, um, this is day two. I'll be gone tomorrow, heading to Dallas for my next tournament. And then you do a tournament and then you're going and you keep, do you do these in between your tournaments? Yeah. I try to, I think clinics like this are fun because like, if a place wants you to come, that's when you feel like it's. Yeah. It's best. Cause sometimes I reach out to clubs and I'll do it and that's fine too. But when a club reaches out wanting you to come, it's, it's really great because there's been, I didn't have to do much, right. I just got show up and the clinics were prepped and we had signups and there's been eight in every group. So eight to one ratio. I feel like that's pretty good. I get to give everyone a little bit of attention. You're a great coach. Great patients. You know, I, you know, you gotta, we meet a lot of people in pickleball and the thing of it is, is that sometimes, you know, with you doing so much, you lose your patience a little bit, you know what I mean? And you're at a level that you have to come back down, way down, way down. I mean, honestly, it's a rec center, you know, you did for me. You had to go down. Yeah. But you have to come down and to have patience for people. That's what I loved about you. Well, thank you. Very nice. Um, but you were on top of everybody. I mean, you were really, you know, you were, oh yeah, you're right there. Yeah. What are you doing? Come on. You know, well, I think, I think people respond to like my passion for the game shows. And I think that's why people like to take clinics and lessons for me. Right. Sure. I'm knowledgeable and I can talk about any part of the game, but I think I, my first level always be tennis. I still love tennis. I'm never going to let go of that, but I found in pickleball like a second chance and I just never thought I'd be this passionate about a sport again. So the fact that I get to call this a job, I'm so fortunate that that's what I show on the court. Right. And that's the passion that I pass along to people. So we love it that, you know, cause tennis and pickleball has been a little war, so it's nice when you're both because you, now you understand, you know, you'd understand how great pickleball is. And if we could play the bad part with tennis, it's just a very tough sport. You got it. I mean, if you're older, I keep telling my dad, my dad, my dad's still a tennis player. Okay. I'm going to convert him eventually, but it's just hard on the body and the points get more and more boring as you can't move in tennis. Yeah. Right. The points just get shorter. Yeah. So in pickleball, you can still play pretty high level for a while. So I just think it's both sports are great. Okay. They both have benefits. Like I love that I played 20 years of tennis and I'm still obsessed. I watch nonstop. Well, does your dad play pickleball at all? Have you, have you, I mean, you're no, you're look, I think here's the problem since my mom and dad, um, they, they like to ask me for help. But then when I tell them to do something, they're like, I can't do this. So I'm like, I can't teach them. And they taught you probably tennis, right? Yeah. They take credit for my tennis for sure. But it's just hard to teach your parents. Cause I tell them and they're like, I can't do that. You need to tell me something else. And it's like, well, do you want me to teach this? Do you want me to teach you or not? This is what I tell my students. So it's, uh, it's a, it's an ongoing battle there, but the sports picking up a ton in Brazil. Um, and eventually it's, it's going to get, they live in Brazil still. My whole family does. So, uh, hopefully they start playing a little bit more, but mom currently only plays with me. Now they have the, they're being out with Padel out there, aren't they? Argentina is bigger than Brazil for Padel, uh, even though it is growing in Brazil as well. But tennis is just, tennis is in a really good tennis. Sorry. Tennis is in a really good moment in Brazil, uh, because we have a guy that just entered the top 30 in the world. We haven't had that in a long time. Wow. So we have a woman in the top 30 and a man in the top 30, and that's a, that's really big for Brazil. So that's a great moment. Pickleball is in a pretty good moment. We have a lot of good players, uh, coming up and, and starting to play in the U S tour. So that's cool to see as well. Uh, oh, it's always nice when actually one of the ladies that came to the clinic was from Brazil. She's been following me all along. Oh yeah. Yeah. That was, she was awesome. She just came up to me and spoke in Portuguese. I was like, yes, there's always one of them. They always find me, uh, even though my English is good. My first language is Portuguese. So it's really good. I mean, I would not even know you mean you, it sounds great. Well, thank you. I learned English when I was five. Uh, yeah. So every time, like someone calls me out on saying something wrong, I'm like, Hey, I probably speak two languages better than you do one. So you need to calm down. I love the kind of feedback I give my students. So where is that? Where are you looking to go at your, in your pro level? Uh, I think that's, that's a tough question. Uh, obviously I wouldn't, I wouldn't be as good as I, I want, I want to be as good as I can be. And that's hard to define, right? It doesn't depend just on me. It depends on circumstances, draws situation. Uh, but I, I'm working very hard. I'm practicing, you know, four plus hours a day, doing fitness, doing recovery, doing all that stuff. In addition to that, I focus a lot on teaching because I'm, I'm truly just passionate about it and, uh, I'm trying to work on a ton of content. So I've been doing my, my Instagram videos. Um, I recently recorded a ton of videos for YouTube. That'll be coming out in the following weeks. We've heard that. That sounds, that's awesome. That's really awesome. It's not, not much, not many women doing that yet. It's been more men in the sport. So, um, and that's another thing of the coaching. There's just more men in the space right now. So trying to kind of, especially in women's doubles, like there's just not a lot of content out there for it. Well, that's good. You're at the right place. Yeah. You know, in this sport here, the bad part with our sport compared to tennis, I gotta go back to that. Yeah. Is that there's a lot of bad habits you can get in pickleball. Oh yeah. A lot of bad habits. I love the one yesterday that you were like, watch the ball. And after you hit your nice serve, you just hang out. That was so funny. But it's not true. Just, I mean, I mean, that's why I keep looking around here. There's this rec going out and I'm watching. I'm like, oh my gosh. It's just unbelievable. Like the other one today that I kept giving the ladies here a hard time about, they hit a bad third and they sprint in. And then the ball comes to their feet and they look at me like, what did I do? You hit a terrible third. That's okay. Wait for the next ball and then you can go, but they're sprinting. And like, you told me to go in. It's like, nope, don't do that to me. I told you to go in if you hit a good third. Okay. That was so funny. Yeah. Well, you helped me with my serve. Yeah. Like I was, I was going really close to my body and I'm like, and I see people do that. I'm like, oh, that's not how you serve. I'm thinking my way was how you serve. And you're like, nope, this is how you do it. And it helped with the, um, getting it to the line. Right. And more power. So it's perfect. Yeah. Yeah. It's just really easy to see from the outside. Just having that background in tennis and technique and strategy, something that I've always been focused on. So it transferred over very easily. I taught tennis for a long time, did a lot of clinics, camps, all that stuff. And you're a slicer though. Everything. And you, you're that backhand slice over and right. That, like you said, the corner, you did it to me when we played, I was like, oh, wow. You know? Yeah. It's pretty annoying. People don't like that shot. Oh, it's a tough shot. Cause it just jumps on you. Exactly. I mean, as soon as you go, it's, well, there it goes. Then it's gone. It's gone. You play so well. Oh my gosh. That was a massive footfall right there. I can't help it. Isn't that the bad part when you're ready to go over there? Flags. They lost the point. Well, you look cool too. I got to say that I liked the Adidas and the paddles. Those are pretty awesome. Excited about the new Adi powers. Yeah. They've been great. Obviously I get all the gear, which is, I'm very spoiled. I know. It's cool gear too. It is. I mean, Adidas has always been a cool like logo and there's stuff. Well, it's been a pretty cool story with Adidas. Cause I went to two universities for tennis and they were both Adidas schools. So I've been with Adidas for like years. So it's just pretty cool. That's kind of full circle for me. I'm back to playing with the shoes that I used to play in college tennis. So it's just like, yeah, there's pictures of me from when I was a kid. So it's pretty cool. Uh, and it's growing a ton in the sport. So I'm just excited that like, I see brands like that coming into the sport. Yeah. Right. Oh, every, yeah. I mean, yeah, they're why they would not, they wouldn't be smart not to. Yeah. Where this sport's going. It's crazy. I mean, we're, uh, we're, you know, we've been talking to a lot of people. I mean, it's just right here at the edge of Olympia, the Olympics. You know what I mean? Right here. I needed to hurry up. I'm not getting any younger. I needed to hurry up. I'd like to play in the Olympics. Yeah. Currently, if, if there was the Olympics, the next, um, the next time around, I would probably be playing for Brazil. So that would be awesome. That would be really awesome. Yeah. I didn't think I'd have a second chance at that either. So yeah, it's right here. They're working on it. I mean, it's in talks. I mean, we're, we hear a lot of the gossip. I mean, it's gossip, but, uh, you know, it is good gossip. Absolutely. I mean, if they can have a cornhole, I'm not a cornholer, but, uh, if they have corn in the Olympics, we can be there. Come on. Oh, if the ball doesn't hurry up and get there, I might just have to get really good at cornhole. Oh, there we go. I'm not telling you. That's funny. I think I could learn that. Yeah. So, but no, I mean, this is just a privilege to have you on and, uh, and, and take your course. That's what we like to do is we get to come and we want to experience what, what, you know, what you're doing. It's nice though. Like we used to sit on the sidelines and we're like, no, let's get in there. So we really get the, to know this person and who you are. And I would take a dozen classes. Sorry. I can't wait till your videos come out. Yeah. The videos will be fun. Uh, and where do we find you? Like, do you have links? Yes, yes, yes. Um, so right now my, my Instagram handle is at Mari Humberg.pb. All of us just do the .pb for, for pickleball. My regular Instagram is Mari Humberg. I don't want to allow any of you to follow my regular Instagram. You know, we keep our lives separate here, but, uh, the, the YouTube is just going to be on Mari Humberg. I think it says Mari Humberg pickleball, but it's just like at Mari Humberg. Um, and I have a ton of videos in Portuguese, actually. That's what my channel has been dedicated to. No one had been making, um, any content in Portuguese and the sports picking up so much in Brazil that we hired a crew when I was back there, um, earlier this year. And we knocked out like 20 YouTube videos at once. So I've been launching one a week just to kind of help out because they, like some people don't know the rules and I'll get messages. So I'm just trying to help if, I mean, how cool is it that I get to be a pioneer of a sport in a country where like they, they look up to me and they, they just want information that they don't have. So it's pretty cool. I, since my family lives there, I go back all the time. Um, and now obviously the bigger community is still the U S so, um, I have a pretty easy time talking. So I, I knocked those videos out pretty quickly. So YouTube content will be a focus of mine moving forward as well. Uh, in addition to the Instagram stuff and obviously continuing to do clinics and lessons just because this is easy for me. It's been a lot this weekend. Oh yeah. I heard you say, I have a house, but I've never seen it. I do own a house and you're so busy. Yeah. You know, what's crazy is that people have like asked to like rent a room and I say no, cause I love to live alone, but that's such bad rationale, right? I need to be smarter because I'm still just like to go back to an open quiet. It's your home. Yeah. Yeah. I know. I already, I see a lot of people. I love my alone time. Yeah. You need that. And I love TV time. I love laying on my couch right in front of like a little pond. The ducks are out there looking at me, you know, I'm like, it's very cold here in Colorado. I'm struggling already, even though we've been indoors this whole time. So where do you live in Florida? Florida. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Cold. It is cold here today. I mean, it's not that cold, but it's cold. See for me, this is like drastic. Yeah. Okay. Like I walked out this morning and I'm wearing two pairs of pants. I'm wearing like a big, like winter jacket. Yeah. You're wearing flip-flops. That's just not the same. I am clearly not accustomed to this. There's no humidity here either, right? Right. No air and no humidity. I'm out of breath. I always thought we were going to have to give you a little CPR yesterday. Yeah. You were going to slap me though. You said, don't, don't even go there. Don't try. Don't, you know. No, actually I was here three years ago. So my brother and I came on a trip to Colorado. He recently got married this year, but we hadn't taken a trip together since like, I guess we became adults, you know, like we, we used to like take family trips. So me and him were like, we should probably let's take a trip together. So he's like, I want to go to Colorado. Okay. Great. So we came here, we did Boulder, Denver, just like traveled around a little bit. Yeah. It was a lot of fun. And then he went and visited me in Louisville, Kentucky. Oh, I like it. I like it. So I had been here before. So it's this time I'm not going to have too much time to explore. Hopefully I come back. It seems like there's been pretty decent feedback so far. So we are building courts like crazy here. Like we're in, we're the indoor court of color. I mean, there has to be 25 indoor courts now here. I mean, there's a, there's a 24 court in, in, in Colorado Springs. I mean, they're really, oh my God, there's so many courts here. I mean, Pickler is big here. Really big. I mean, it's just nuts. But I mean, we, but you know, it's weird with our winter. It's, you know, we act like it's this drastic thing. We might get five snow storms. I mean, I know it's cold. It looks like it was going to snow yesterday. We're good. We're out there playing. If you go to the outside courts, they're playing. I won't be at the outside courts. I won't see it. What are you talking about? That's crazy. It actually held last night. Did it held where you were? Did it really? Yeah. I was asleep. And then there was thunderstorms. I think I'm teaching this much and I'm not passing out like this. I was going to watch the baseball game last night. I watched through the 12th inning and I was like, nope, I'm out. There's no chance I can. Well, you've worked hard all weekend. I mean, you, and then coming to Colorado and like you say, the breathing and all that. Exactly. And heading to Dallas tomorrow already. So morning flight, I think my flight's at like 1040. So head to Dallas next. We have two events there. And then finally I go home for five days. But at least you'll be the humidity. You'll be there, right? Yeah. It'll be hot. It'll be even there. I mean, they're 70 is pretty hot. Yes. I don't know how hot it is in Texas right now. My son lives there. It's around, it stays in the eighties. Okay. I mean, they do get some storms, but I mean, it's like, you know, you live in a nice place. I mean, Florida. Now do you swim in the ocean? No. Okay. This is one thing about me, actually. I like, I'm pretty decent at sports overall, but you put me in water and I am terrible. Like if I can like, if I can stay there, that's already a win. So yeah, I shouldn't, I need to go in pools that are like, I can reach the bottom and yeah. Ocean's probably not the best for me. I'll put my feet in it. I wouldn't go in their oceans there anyway. I mean, it's just be every, I like Florida. Somebody eaten, somebody bit, you know, alligators. But I feel like they, they're like kind of trying sometimes. Maybe they are. Yeah. Yeah. No, I like, yeah. I think you just obviously need to be careful, but I'll swim in the ocean in Brazil. Oh my God. It has to be beautiful there. Yeah. Oh my gosh. We're about like an hour and a half away from the beach back at home. It's just nice to be gorgeous. Yeah. It's now you have a lot of humidity there too, right? Oh yeah. Cause you're more like, it's like jungling, right? I'm in Sao Paulo, which is like the biggest city. Okay. 20 million in the like major city areas. Huge. But the nice part is I've been home actually three times this year. So I'm going to go a fourth time now in December, but it's summertime there. Oh yeah, that's right. So it's kind of nice for Christmas and New Year's is like, yeah. Christmas and New Year's I'm pickleballing. I'm going to the beach. I'm. I love it. Relaxing a little bit because we have a long season. I play 25 tournaments a year. So. Oh my gosh. Yeah. It's pretty excessive. Yeah. You don't need a house. You need a tent. I don't like tents. Traveling van or something. I know. I should really get on a plane home to your duckies. I know I need to go home to the ducks. I need to go home to my bed. I love that house. I really do. It's, it's still better to pay a mortgage than to pay rent. Okay. So it is. Cause I was living in Kentucky. I rented an apartment there for the past eight years. So, uh, but I really did love it in Kentucky. It's just the ball there. Wasn't quite, uh, at the level that Florida is. That's for sure. So. Yeah. I mean, they have the stadiums there. I mean, you have a stadium pickle balls. I want to go see it. I haven't seen it. Oh, you need to go check it out. Oh yeah. It's been great over there. And even like in my community of where my house is, I have two courts. So like people come over all the time. They train there with me. It's really easy to get games. It's really easy to get drilling sessions. Um, there's a really nice gym at the place that I train at. I heard it's different play though. I mean, anywhere is different, right? Right. I mean, here, you notice if you hit the ball hard, it goes out. Yours good. You still do a good serving, keep it in. But I mean, most of the time you watch, we watch pros come and people come and the altitude and the, in the, uh, um, the, uh, air it's so the ball flies. Oh, for sure. I remember I played the Denver tournament in 2023. Okay. I don't remember where that, what, what, um, venue it was at, but I played here and I remember getting here and I was like, wow. Yeah. Ball just flies. Yeah. It's outdoors. I feel like it's even, I don't know. Yeah. It's even more. Yeah, it is actually is. If you have a little bit of wind or weather, it's, it's worse. Definitely. So we know you're busy and we thank you so much and we're going to follow and keep in touch with you. I know we might not talk to you a whole lot, but at least we'll, you'll see this little pickleballers next door. Come across your feet. There you go. I love it. Well, thank you so much for having me. Yeah. Thank you. Hope to see you again soon. And hopefully both of your serves are fixed by the time I see you next. They will be. I'm actually, I mean, I, now I'm thinking about it a lot. Hey, if I got you thinking, I think I succeeded. No, it's good. As long as I don't break a hip. You were making me work those hips pretty hard yesterday. You need to. You're right. You know what? I got, you get lazy. He's the kind of guy that I tell him something. He's like, oh, but that's going to do like, he wants to argue with me and I just make him do it again. Right. He like argues like no other. Right. Wow. Mike. It's called laziness. You know what I mean? You start to get like. You signed up. You realize you paid and signed up to be in the clinic. I did. I did. I know I was bad. You are awesome though. But I really, I really did help my serve. I got to play a little bit more yesterday. And wow, I kept going. I just backed up and wow. I had a lot more power. That's good. I think I used to. And I think I just, I think you can get lazy and pick a ball. Like you said, my paddle, my paddle is hanging down. I'm scratching my leg. Yeah. I don't know what happens. It's muscle memory. I help teach and I do the same thing. I tell, what are you doing over there? What are you doing? Your paddle behind you scratching your back. I mean, it's so easy to see from the outside. It really is. It really is. Thank you so much. Thank you. You are so wonderful. Thank you for having me. Thank you. Thank you. Awesome. Bye-bye. Here we go. Hi guys. So we are here with Ann Corson. We're here at Relish and you just played with Mari Humberg. How was that? Oh, it was amazing. Yeah. She has a crazy spin and she can get to everything. It was really fun. Oh, her slices. Oh my gosh. I know. Her angle shot too. But yours too. I mean, you were right there. There was no... You played well. You were really good. Yeah. It's easier to play with her than against her. Yeah, I bet. And then, so you're with the Denver Iconics. And we got to see you out in Seattle. And that was awesome to watch you too. I didn't get you. No. Well, no. I was goofing around. He was still in Colorado, but that's okay. So you just came. You kind of did this for the Denver Iconics, right? As kind of a... Was that a fundraiser or just something to kind of promote Denver Iconics and promote Relish and Mari? Yeah, I think she was here all day doing clinic. And I think I heard some really good things about that. But yeah, she's been on the court for eight hours. Yeah, yesterday too. Yeah, we were here. You know, after being on the court all day, it's impressive. Yeah, wow. We all, a few of us Iconics came out to play with her and just do a little exercise. Yeah. So are you going to get ready for next year? Do you guys have to do the Columbine? Or are you already... No. No, you don't have to do that. Yeah, I got it. You got here, yeah. But no, I don't have to do it again. No. So you're in. So you're just waiting to see where you're going to be? I guess there's a chance that I wouldn't get drafted again, but I don't. No. You're good. No, you look good. Yeah, yeah. And you live here in Colorado, right? So that's nice. It's really nice. Where do you practice? So all over. Because you're kind of up north, right? Yes, I live in Erie, and I just started teaching at Third Shot Longmont. So I played there a lot. Nice. Yeah, this is awesome. I mean, you know, watching you guys. I mean, you know, again, this is my goal, right? I didn't know if you know, I'm on the team, but I'm the water boy. I haven't gotten any water. Yeah, I know. I've not been doing a good job. You're just watching. What are you doing? I don't know. I'm going to get fired already. I haven't even started a season yet. So, but yeah, my dream is to do what you're doing. I mean, I'm trying so hard. Mario is supposed to give me some lessons and get me up, you know. But it seems like I'm so far away, especially after watching you guys, you know. I mean, it's a tough competition out there. It really is. Yeah. To me, you guys make it look easy. Like, and I'm like, ah. Some of those volleys back and forth. Oh, my gosh. Wow. Yeah, good points. Very good. Well, we thank you so much. Yeah, say hi. And, you know, I mean, we're going to see a lot more. We're going to follow the Denver Econics. I'll be there with the water. So, thanks to all. And just tell him to do his job. Maybe I'll be there with water. It's going to be funny when I have water, right? Yeah, you'll be like, hey. Hey, water boy. Can't know me. Got the best H2O. Right. As long as it's wet pH water. Yeah, whatever. Right. Okay. Just it'll be water. I'll be down on the tap. Okay. Thank you so much. Thank you. It was nice to have you. But you'll be seeing us a lot more. Thank you. Thanks. Bye. Yep. There we go. Hi, guys. We are here with Gail Hook and Mario Bosch. Did I say that right? Bosch-y, Bosch-y. Yeah, just butchering it. You got it. Of course, Mike and I. I'm here too. I mean, we're still here. We're still at that. We're at the relish. Gail, yes. So, tell us. You did a great job here. You did this for two days. You put this together with Mari, right? Yeah. Yeah, it's been a great two days. We've had a total of six clinics plus the exhibition game. She thoroughly just killed it in every clinic. She really knows how to take her skill as a pro pickleball player and, you know, help the amateur pickleball player. She does a great job of, you know, explaining skill work. She's very direct, funny. Yeah, very pleasant. Very pleasant. It has a smile on her face. Very, very confident, which is awesome. It's great to see that, particularly in a female athlete. And so, we're really glad we did it. I know she wants to come back. I know, you know, Relish would like to have her come back. She got to work with every skill level. And what a player she is too. Wow. She's a player. She adjusts to every level. She did. Yeah, she did great. She, anything, any skill that she taught was appropriate for that skill level. And at the same time, also challenged you. Definitely. And so, and, you know, had a big smile on her face and laughed. All the time. Yep. So, yeah, we definitely want her back. Well, thank you. You did a great job. I mean, this is all you. I mean, it was great because of you. I don't know about that, but, you know. It was very organized. It was really good. You know, I'm coming from a pretty strong basketball background. So pickleball has been a little bit challenging for me in terms of how do you run these things? And so, you know, it's a team effort. And everyone that participated was helpful. And it was just really fun. Awesome. You know, I'm going to, just to add to that, I want to thank Gail for sure. You did do an amazing job setting this thing up. And with all your help, your team, that's helped you go through this. It was just coming here, came early because I wanted to see, Tiff had her crew out with Mari playing and doing her clinic. It was just amazing just to watch that and listen. You know, as a coach and as a player, I look at that and I take notes. I'm always learning from everyone. It just, it doesn't matter who it is. If it was the players that she was actually coaching or if it was herself. And then when you got to play with her, it was even that much more fun. Oh my gosh. And you did, didn't you? It was great. And I just, it was an honor. And I told her when I got in the court, I said, just tell me what to do. And she goes, no, you're doing fine. Don't worry about it. So she's, she's great on the court. She knows how to adapt very quickly. And you know, when you think there's a shot that maybe we're not getting or she isn't getting, sorry, not we, she isn't getting, it goes over the net. But it was, I just want to say thanks to Gail for setting this all up. And looking forward to hopefully we get to see her again next year. And it was an honor playing with the crew and everyone that we played with today and how you set that up. So thank you. Well, we thank you both. Yeah. Denver Iconics here. I mean, yeah, I mean, just, you know, you show up too. That's a nice part is, you know, we see a lot of team sports, but half the team doesn't show up sometimes. So it's nice. That's what I like about the Denver Iconics. You come together, whatever you need, I need you here. I got to do this. Your announcer, we loved him. What a voice. That was still funny because it was about a week and a half ago. I was playing at Lifetime and we were just in this open play thing. And him and I were partnered up and he just started talking to me. And I was like, God, he's got like the great, he's got a great radio. Yes, he does. You know what I mean? And I told him that and he goes, you know, a lot of people have told me that. And then I was like, ooh, maybe we can get you to do a little announcing of our game with Mari Humberg. And he was like, okay, okay. And so he knew everything about her even prior to that. So I knew right away it was going to be a nice little. He did a great job. Yeah. On the fly. And he did it basically on the fly. Yeah. He kept the focus here in the court. So that's what was nice about it. It kept the focus right here. Absolutely. I wasn't even paying attention to nothing else around us. Also thanking Gail for sending us all love. I also want to thank some of the Denver Iconics players. Scott Flegelman that came up, which is great. And appreciate everybody's love of watching him play. Red Ann Corson, another amazing player. She's just played great today. She played great today. And then we had Bill Muno that showed up from Colorado Springs. It was awesome to play, to watch him play and myself playing. So it was great. So I just wanted to give hats off to them. And thank you for taking their time to come up to this event. Yeah. I think, like I said, you're a family. And you've been saying that all along. Yeah. And I think it's great, you know. So then pickleball has a long ways to go, right? Absolutely. This is tough to put together. I mean, it's not easy. It's like herding baby kittens sometimes. It's a long way to go, but a ton of potential. Yes, absolutely. Potential you can do with it, because it incorporates every skill level. Male, female, you know what I mean? Like pros, amateurs. I mean, there's a lot to do with it. So every day, it's great. It's wonderful. Yeah, it is. Look at these amateurs around watching. I mean, they don't see shots between the legs. They don't see the earnies. They don't see the APTs and our ABTs. Yeah, I mean, because to them, it's just getting the ball over is fun. But when you see pros like yourself, wow. It's so fun. Yeah, it is. When you see that, yeah. She actually had a couple of them. Yeah, she did. She dialed them in. Well, Scott had, didn't he have one in his? Scott had. Yeah, yeah, yeah. There were a few. Some scorpions. Scorpions were in there. Scorpions in there. Lobs, you name it. Yeah. Some of the lobs, some of them had some hops. I mean, I was like, ooh. Yeah, some good stuff in there. It was great. Yeah, I loved it. Well, thank you, guys. We appreciate you and inviting us. Oh, my God. We appreciate you guys. Thanks for doing this. And looking forward to doing our next one. Many more. Many more. Have a good night, guys. Thanks, guys. Bye. Want a pro-level pickleball court without pouring concrete? Discover Rollout Courts from Pickleball Management Group.
