And I'm Kizana with Pickleballers next door. How are you Mike? I'm doing really good. I mean, I know we can't be together tonight, which is fine. So if we're off a little bit on our sound quality, I apologize, but we want to make sure that we put a podcast out for you guys every Thursday. So, well, I'm excited. We just got back. We're both tired. That was an adventure for us at the USA Pickleball Nationals. Yes, it was in San Diego. It was like a kind of a boom-boom. It was really, it was fun. It was fun. What, 50 courts out there? Yeah. I mean, just constantly, they were playing and, you know, rain, of course. But yeah, we had a lot of fun. We had a lot of guests on our podcast. We did live, and bear with us as we get better and better at doing live and better at our podcasting. Yeah. But I think we did good, Mike. What do you think? I think we did really good. I mean, I think it was, it was a big deal for us. USA Pickleball brought us out and had us part of this, which was a big deal. Like she said, there was 50 tournaments. I think the hard part was this, that with the rain caused so many delays and put everybody in a panic to get the courts. Every day they were drying these poor courts, these poor people. I got to give high-five to all the volunteers, to people there that were there, the players, USA Pickleball. I mean, they were out there every day drying the courts, and they got the system to do it. It's amazing the equipment they have to get courts dry. We need some of those here. I'd like to own one of those because I'd be playing every, every time a little bit of rain or snow got on the court, I'd be playing. They were all rock stars. I mean, just to know that it was, I think it was every day or night. I mean, it was in the afternoon mostly that it rained, and then they were working till late to try to get that rain off of the courts, clear that out, and then even into the morning. So, it's amazing how well they did. And how many different divisions. I mean, you're talking all different divisions from youth to senior to the guys in the wheelchairs. I mean, that was incredible. Yeah, adaptive. I got to get used to that word. You know, I feel like that almost sounds like a bad word, but I got to get used to it. But these guys are incredible players. We got, we actually got, you'll hear we have a couple of gold winners. Just incredible players. But again, for us, it was a high-five for me and you. We were busy. I mean, because of the rain and all the backups, we never stopped interviewing and talking to people. The sad part is that we hardly got to watch a lot of play. We were actually sitting in our studio area most of the time, you know, and sat out to our helpers, my wife and your husband, Pama and Dave. They were rock stars. Yeah. And Lisa. Definitely our spouses were rock stars. They had to put up with us. Yeah, yeah. It got pretty intense. Yeah, yeah. I get a little, I can get a little grumpy. I think I get older here. I get a little bit grumpier. But overall, this was a great event. Who doesn't love San Diego? 50 courts of pickleball. I mean, come on. I mean, there was, I can't, I don't know how many vendors. There was a ton of vendors there. Great people. We got a few of them on. We got some innovators that are coming on that have invented some neat stuff that's that you'll be hearing about. We got from, you know, pros, we have, what's the gentleman that he was on TV? Oh, we had. Well, we had Herb Livesey, and I'm probably not saying his name right. And we he was the scout for the Denver Nuggets. And he also has helped 1000s of people play pickleball. And from what I understand for free, and then we had the bachelor, it was the golden bachelor. And his name was Gary Turner. And it was the guy that you were, you know, gazing into his eyes, I think was, Hey, don't go, don't don't go there. You know, sometimes, sometimes when you're sitting in that table, and you know, we are looking in people's eyes, and he is the bachelor, I was thinking, you know, you guys are gonna be forever. What were you thinking? I don't know. I don't know. I just, I was the end of the day. And I was, I was, I was gazing, I guess. And that's where that what's what came out of my mouth, but you guys will get a little giggle out of it. It was fun. You know, this whole thing was fun. Yeah. And so it was, I mean, we'll have lots of episodes coming up about, you know, the all of the people that we did interview. So we just are putting that all together for everybody. But again, USA pickleball, high five, I mean, well greased oiled machine. I mean, they have the people they have the organization they have the you know, everything's in motion. I mean, you can't ask for any more people are smiling, people are having fun. I didn't see anybody lost to get into their courts. I mean, 50 courts, guys, you've got to imagine 50 courts, trying to organize that with all your refs, all your staff, all your you know, I mean, it's, it's amazing. I mean, I've got these big tournaments of these, you know, 10 or 15 or 20 courts, you go 50 courts, it's another it's another ballgame. Oh, definitely. It was. It was crazy. It was crazy. Great, you know, and then they had the champion court in the middle there that there was a lot of like exhibitions with different people handing out prizes. And I believe that they also handed out grants, which was amazing. So once we're going to actually get Jennifer on on a podcast soon. She's the one that handles all the marketing and everything. And she was talking to me about the grants that they hand out. So that will be great to have her on just to kind of explain how that all worked. And she was a rock star. Oh my gosh. Yeah, that poor lady, whatever they got to pay her, they should pay her double because she she works. Oh my gosh, she is going from sunup to sundown. I mean, oh my god smile. It doesn't matter what the situation was. She was handling it. She had the little walkie talkie thing and she was making things happen. And even for us, we were so appreciative of her. She kept it rolling for us, everybody. I mean, I don't know how she did it. I mean, she's a rock star. I would love to have her on our team. You know, we are we are part of their team. I gotta say that we are USA Pickleball. We we do love what they do and they stand for and we are definitely you know, they're they're helping from youth to every situation and you know, kind of organizations and pickleball and it's it's just crazy. I mean, oh yeah, you're gonna hear about the lab tech guy too. That was a that just popped into my mind. The guy that you know, that talks about how the paddles are weighed and how the grittiness on them. I mean, we have a little video on that. And we got to talk to the guy. Yeah, why they do it and and wow, you know, all we think is, you know, that they're trying to be this these governing and they just want to yeah, these terrible people and they're just trying to make it an even playing field for everybody, which that made a lot more sense to me. So as listeners, yeah, we're going to be I mean, we we've talked to them, we have to get clearance and everything because where this is that it's it's by a third party. So the neat thing was it was we have to get this clearance because they they do all types of testing there. But we will, we are gonna make a point to try to get out to this year to actually get some real detailed information. So you understand of what goes into branding a paddle with their USA pickleball on it, why it gets in and why some don't. Well, it's on every paddle. So I think a lot of people would be interested, especially since there's so many paddles coming out now. And you know, they have to because it's a safety thing to is what they said, because they don't want it to go over so many miles per hour. Because a lot of people could get hurt. So so it's a good thing. It is a good thing. And talk to the whole thing's not the whole thing's not about money either. That's the funny part with this. That's what I mean, when I first got into pickleball, that's the first thing you go to is you think that this is governed because all it is about who's getting paid. They're not getting paid. They're a nonprofit organization. They you know, they pay they have to pay people to work for them. But they use third party testing. And they are not they're just there to make sure that it makes the qualifications. But again, it's going to be neat. This will be a podcast down here in the future. I think you guys will really love, especially you techie people. You know, I'm not so much that probably you Chris Anna, you like the tech stuff. You're always pushing buttons and doing something. So but I'm not so much I just whatever you tell me to be and get on the mic. That's where I'm at. So that's why they call you hot mic, right? Oh, yeah, yeah. All right. Yeah, after you hear a few of these episodes, I don't know if that's gonna be anymore. So and now we're visible. So now we're live. So I mean, if you guys I know we had a few that were, we were lip syncing or whatever. But now a few of them you're gonna see. So yeah, be prepared this year. Oh, absolutely. How do you how do you do anything? I mean, without trying, right? I mean, yeah, you have to learn. I mean, and, and you got to understand. I mean, I think some people will understand this. We're in circumstances where there's two outlets, the lighting, the weather, the wind, how many times that our own, our own banners and stuff trying to kill us. Yeah, I mean, there's all these things. Yeah. And yeah, clubs are being unplugged. And you know, it's like internet going down. Yeah. I mean, so I mean, I think went off. Oh, no, my phone decided to ring. Yeah, right. I mean, there but but you know what, we're real. I mean, we want to make we try as hard as we can to make this real. So you know that we're doing it behind the scenes. And I think it's great. It's fun. Well, you know, pretty good. Yeah, people got to remember that we have done something different than all other podcasters. That's what's going to make us number one in the world. And is the fact that we are out in the functions, we are podcasting and doing video live sitting in the middle of somewhere you don't know where sometimes we're in fields, sometimes we're outside, and we are doing our best to figure out how to give you the best out of all that. So we wanted to at least come on tonight and talk to everybody and say thank you for listening. Thank you for following. Yes, absolutely. Because without you, we can't go on. I mean, we need your support. And we hope that you keep listening. And we're going to get better and better for you. But there's a learning curve to it. And some of you will be like, gosh, you know, we probably and if you know, we're always like, hey, DM us. If you know a better way and some solutions to things. We are open to those comments. We are open to like learning. If somebody has those skills, that can say, gosh, guys, you can just get this and plug into that. And that fixes all this. Or even if you want to hear something that we haven't heard, or you want to have us go somewhere that you think would be great to cover. Just DM us. We're always open to any suggestions. And yeah, definitely. I guess what I was hoping for when we started the Pickleballers Next Door was that people could live vicariously through us. We could be in different circumstances from from raising money to help children, to people, to animals, to pickleballers, to being at big tournaments and giving the excitement to a birthday party, if that's a pickleball birthday party that we're at. We want to let people see that the world of pickleball. And I think that's what we bring to the table is we're bringing the world of pickleball to people, you know, and because not everybody gets a chance. And I feel so blessed from both of us that we get to go do this, that we get to go travel to San Diego and meet all these great people. So like I said, this podcast was really to thank everybody. And we're going to keep thanking you and keep following us because it's only going to get better and better. Yeah, we really do. Thank you. And and another reason we would just wanted to, you know, tomorrow's Thanksgiving, we wanted to just kind of say Happy Thanksgiving. Thanks. Pickleballers Next Door. Yeah, thankful for all our listeners and people that are wanting to be new and listen to us. It would be awesome. Yeah, that's what you know. So we're kind of doing a short podcast today. So as we're real, we're real people. I mean, at the end of the day, yeah, we love pickleball, but at the end of the day, we're people. And if all of us can give thanks or a handout or help somebody or say hello to somebody or high five somebody, we have a better world. And sometimes our world's not the best, right? I mean, I don't get into all everything, you know, and I wouldn't even bring that on our show. But sometimes it's nice to just say hello to somebody or shake somebody's hand or have a nice day. And that's what tomorrow's about. Get with your family. Be thankful for your life and what's going on in your life. Yeah. Yeah. And even people outside of that, you know, I mean, we can't all you know, we see people that are down on their luck. We can't you know, a person said to me once until you can put your your your put their shoes on. Don't judge them, you know, and I get it. There's some good people. There's some bad people. But I mean, we can't you can't you can't judge everybody. So just do the best to do who you are and get back to people. So and that's what we are here at Cook of Ours next door. We again, we want to give you what we want to give you the vision, the sight, the hearing, the excitement to tears, to, you know, to just some just some fun, fun, fun, fun, fun. Yeah. Just some, you know, so, yeah, I know this isn't the exciting podcast of this week, but again, I think me and Chris Anna's point here is be thankful. It's Thanksgiving and and we are ready to rock this next year. You guys got to see our calendar. I don't know how we're going to pull the whole calendar off, but this calendar is big. It is. It is actually called the big calendar. Yeah. Is it a big day calendar? It is a big day calendar because this is a big calendar. We literally have a calendar that books us from this January until next January. And we are booking all those spots so that you guys have great coverage. Things that coverage. Yeah. To hear, you know, from great things. We will bring tears to you and we'll bring some fun laughter to you, too. So but guys, keep out there. Keep with us. We thank you. I thank you. I know Chris Anna. Thank you. Yeah. So please keep following us and DM us. We are love to hear anything that you'd like us to hear or something you don't like. You can tell us, too. We're we're big. We're adults. We're OK to hear something that maybe we offended or said something that didn't feel, you know, we can explain ourselves. And if you want to know something, we are around some of the best in the world and pick a ball. Number one people in the world from pros to everyday Joes. Yeah, we have a little of everything. So if we don't know, we probably have a phone number that we can call somebody and get that answer for you. Yep. Just DM us. Definitely. DM us. That's the way, you know, and we're going to have more on our lives where we'll actually be able to talk to you. So that so we'd be keep in tune with those because we'll actually be able to actually see your name, say hi to you and answer questions right there while we're on air. Yep. A lot to look forward to. Well, I want to thank I want to thank everybody. I want to thank Chris, Christana, my partner, which has been awesome. And I also just want to put a shout out to our our other partner that was here with things to change. But Greg was another one of our partners that, you know, life has changed. He had to do something. We had to do things differently. He was going to do something else. And but we still think he's a great guy. So shout out to him. And love you. You're a great guy. Yeah. Happy Thanksgiving. I'll definitely be texting him tomorrow. Me and Greg like to eat. So it's a great day for us. But and then I want to put a thank you to all Picklers, all the other clubs that we, you know, otherwise we say Picklers. Picklers was the first one to support us when we got into the into this podcasting. So we do really appreciate them. They were the you know, we they're number one in our book because they didn't have to believe in us. And we were the we were at a little table with two little headphones on saying, hello, we're pickleballers next door. And now look at us. We're at the USA Pickleball openings. We're at, you know, grand openings. We've opened almost every club in Colorado, too. We're starting to be opening stuff around the United States. So anyway, we are just thankful for all these people to support us, all these companies to support us. And all our families and all your families, our military, anybody that needs help, please, if we can help them, you know, please. Thank you. Thank you. Well, Christina, have a happy Thanksgiving and I will be talking to you soon. And you two. OK, take care. Have a great night. Happy Thanksgiving, everybody. Thank you, guys. Bye bye.
