Good morning, Christana. Good morning, Mike. How are you? I'm all right. You know, I mean, a couple times this year, this is another time I've gotten a freaking cold, right? Yeah, and it hits you pretty hard, huh? Yeah, well, my wife calls that a man cold. Yeah. So it's probably just like a little… Do you whine a lot? I think I do. You know what? I never get sick. I hate to say that. And this last year, maybe, you know, just busy and the weather being weird. But, yeah, it just sucks. I mean, I don't know how people… Nobody wants to be sick. Like, you just told me a second ago, you're like, well, I don't want to be sick. Mike goes, I don't like being sick. And I'm like, you know what? I love it. Yeah, no. But everything's good. I mean, yeah. I mean, knee's out right now, so I'm not getting a lot of Patel. I'm not getting a lot of Pickleball. But I know we're busy doing a lot of stuff. I mean, we just did a couple good podcasts. Yeah, with the Stretch Zone, which actually you're going to go try, right? Yeah, they're going to stretch me out and pretty soon I'm like being gymnastics or something. I'll be doing backflips and stuff, whatever. Yeah, it'll feel good. I've had it done once. And actually, it's interesting because they do push that level of stretch way more than you would normally do with the straps and everything. So it's different and it's good. You feel really good afterwards. I just feel like you could have an accident. Well, you could. Most people don't, Mike, but you might. Well, I'm not an accident. You could pee yourself or poop yourself. But I mean, Mike, I think that they're pressing on that stomach and leg and you just had a good lunch. Well, I know there's a reason your wife calls you Tudor. Oh, yes. Oh, yes. She probably does, though. But yeah, who knows? I mean, you know what? Whenever you're up close with people, you learn a lot about people and you learn a lot about people. I guess they could be my best friend. They accept that. Anyway, so we have something neat to talk about. We've been working at all these different facilities, these pickleball clubs that are opening indoors. And we've been trying to find a way to do something good for them and for people. Yes. And I think that we finally, you know, with the way the world's at and business and money and everything, I think that this is something that we're doing that's going to help people and small businesses. And so we kind of have done just a small kind of launch just to, you know, get what people say, what they like. Give us any kind of critique. Is it critique-ness? I don't know. I don't know. What's the word there, Mike? Don't ask my medicine head right now. Just to kind of give us an idea of what they think and what they would like to see. Yeah. And I think this was your idea. It's a great idea because it kind of brings the pickleball world with the networking and it's still community. It is. I grew my business back in the day before all the Internet stuff and phones and, you know, I mean, literally pagers. You had to run to a pay phone and put money in to talk to somebody to set an appointment. Oh, I thought yours was a telegram. Don't you go there. Don't even go there. That was when you were born. But long story short is that we don't, you know, we still need that contact, right? We need that business to business. But I know a lot of you out there that have businesses, if you've been in business for some time, you know, networking is not always the funnest thing. It's uncomfortable. It's like dating, right? I can't imagine. I've been married for a long time. But, you know, going on a date, isn't that's got to be the most uncomfortable, weirdest thing that you ever have to do. Especially nowadays. I don't. It's hard. You know, I think COVID, with COVID, I think it changed a lot. It did. But now people are tired of all the AI stuff and crazy stuff. You don't know. You're even watching videos and people. So I think people are kind of wanting to get back to shaking hands and high fiving. But I think what we're doing different than your normal networking is we're bringing pickleball into it. We're bringing you up on a court and you're having to talk to people. And it's not so face to face. You're hitting a little ball where you're saying hello and what do you do and how do you. And you're smiling there and you're. It just takes that uncomfortable part of networking out of it because you're playing with somebody that you don't know. But you know how it is when you're on the court. You get to know them and your friends. Right. Oh, yeah. When I think another part of this, too, is people. Business people are good at running through coffee shops, fast food. Go, go, go. Working 15 hour days, seven days a week. And you don't get much exercise. So, I mean, I think another factor just to bring on the health side, because we do talk about a lot of health stuff, that that they are going to get a little exercise. And what a great way to come in to your networking. And first thing you do is just going to have fun and hit a pickleball. Yeah. It wakes people up. That's the funny part. When people were coming through the door, they're like. But when they got on that court, they were just there. Yeah. Oh, they were having a lot of fun and they were connecting so well. Yeah, it was fun. It was fun to watch him. It was fun to help them. And then we got done. You got a little bit of food and drink and then we got to talk. And you were already felt it wasn't that cold room. It was we walked in and you're already like a buddy. Like, oh, yeah, we just like really just everybody sat down and everybody talked to each other. Nobody felt uncomfortable. I know I'm pretty shy and I know that it would be hard for me to go into just a networking thing, just walking in, not knowing anything. But when you get on that court, that court makes you feel comfortable with that person. You know, so I'm so it was great for me. Even myself. I mean, I had fun out there. I know Jen got you. I got a body bag. Right. One of our players. Yeah. You could even body bag somebody, you know. Yeah. It's fun. But anyway, we just we want to we started this here in Colorado. We hope to be in the United States by next year. Yeah. This is just the prototype. And we love pickleball. So for our listeners, I know it's a little boring. It's not some of our normal pickleball, but it is pickleball. And we're doing something good because these clubs have these clubs of 30, 50, 80,000 square foot facilities. And they're they're trying. And here in Colorado, we have over 20 clubs. So these clubs have to keep going, you know, in the morning time and afternoons or summer. They got to keep these things going. So if we can support these clubs and make it where they got more people coming in. I think people are shy that want to start pickleball. And this is a great opening door to the walk in this big facility, you know, and go, wow. And what's nice about this with and it's called on court networking powered by pickleballers next door. But what's great about this is you don't have to know how to play pickleball. You can come in. You can be level one. You can be a pro. It does not matter what level you are at. No, because we're here to facilitate relationships, community, not real. We're not doing here to who can hit the hardest serve or the best. I mean, it's supposed to be fun. And you're supposed to be thinking about your business. We want to help you get your business to grow your business and get you more leads and make more money so you can play more pickleball. Exactly. Right. Really. Honestly, the underlying truth of it is, is if I make you more money by getting you more business, you can come play more pickleball. And you don't have to advertise as much because you just come in having fun playing pickleball and getting to meet great people. Oh, yeah. And today was a it was a smaller group just because we're beginning right with everything, trying to get the glitches out and everything. But it was a really fun group. We had a little like a variety of different businesses. And it was just it was fun. Everybody left with a smile on their face. They did. And we had people from zero. We call we go from zero to three. Zero is you just never played. So we're going to teach you how to play. One is you've maybe played one or two times. Two, you're kind of play a little more regular. And three, you're kind of playing like more often. And by doing that. So what I can do as the coach is I put you together with a three and a zero. So this even makes you have to communicate more. So it's just helping you're helping somebody. You're having fun. Yeah. And you're in and you get to do your bit. You're maybe you're growing your business at the end of the day. No, it's a great. It's a great opportunity. And I think people want to try it. And we'd love to like you can DM us about it because it's it really will be. It's going to be huge. I think here in Colorado and across the states. We have eight clubs that we're getting ready to get going right now. There's 20. And we pretty much have talked to a lot of those 20. Even Bedell. We have a couple of Bedell courts in there. Excuse me. But yeah, we're we're excited. So we just it's not like I know the spot. This is an exciting for some of you that don't live here and you're not here in Colorado, but be watching because this is coming towards you. This will be at Picklers. This will be at Aces. This will be at third shots. This will be, you know, all over the world. So we you know, we think it's going to grow and we're going to build a huge community having tournaments leagues. So it's it's pickleball, but it's just you're doing business with other businesses. And then we can start to segment the different businesses. Like we can have a health part of business. We can have a, you know, invest part of businesses. We can have, you know, so wherever you are, we're going to have these really fun events that are going to be fun. And guess what? We're helping the club. They're getting that. We're running lots of courts all the time from these different clubs. And they're loving us because we're bringing revenue in to keep these clubs going because they're expensive. Right. And I think a lot of people don't realize how, you know, sometimes I go, oh, that's expensive monthly to play pickleball indoor. But if you look at all these facilities that they're huge, first off, and they are expensive, you know, lights, flooring, a small build out, a small build out will be a million dollars. Most of these facilities now are spending between a half a million and a half to five million dollars to open that. So think about the numbers of courts have to be rented even at your 30 to 40 dollars that you're upset about. And, you know, and I always think they've pitched this wrong. In my opinion, you should always pitch it. And I get why they have to do it, because then people would only want to pay the ten dollars or five dollars. But if you have a forty dollars an hour court, it's only ten dollars a person. Yeah. If you want to be the big wig and you got the big bucks and you're rolling and you got the, you know, the beam, you know, got the Mercedes and all the good stuff and then be the baller, you know. But if you're not, it's really only ten dollars. So it's no Starbucks. That's, I was going to say, that's a coffee at Starbucks. A coffee? That's a little coffee. Yeah. Creamer's extra. Right. Yeah. And if you like to, you know, like in Colorado, you don't get to, the weather sometimes does not permit you to always play outside. I know a lot of people like to play outside too. But during the wintertime, you need to come. If you want to still play pickleball, you need to have an indoor facility. And we just got to keep these facilities going. You know, I mean there, I think everybody that we talked to and the people that we're connected to that are owners are just, they're all great. You know? Good people. Uh huh. They want to bring you these facilities. They're beautiful. Air conditioned. Great lighting. Beautiful courts. I mean, these are gorgeous. We're sitting in one right now that's just absolutely beautiful. Brand new. So like I said, we, uh, we just wanted to bring this out to you and tell you what's going on. Um, especially you listeners in Colorado. And, uh, we would, you know, hope you, as we grow, you'll, uh, we'll talk a little bit more. You'll hear more and more about this. And we're even talking about having a channel that'll be for business from Pickleballers Next Door. Yeah. So that way you do you business people out there that you want to send your people that want to do some, you know, get more leads for your business. They can come here and play a little pickleball and they won't be so boring. You know? I mean, everybody had so much fun today and it's going to be fun. I'm excited about it. Yeah. And if anybody wants to be part of it, um, all they have to do is right now just, um, DM us. DM us. And then they can also send an email to info at pickleballersnextdoor.com and then, uh, we'll get back with you and we'll send you details and everything. Yeah. We're looking for a lot of people that believe in this and want to help businesses and help these clubs. Um, we're, we're not making it rich here. This is something to build for community. Yeah. We're just using a different community that needs help. I mean, if you're a business out there, you know what I'm talking about? We both, me and Christana both own businesses and it's been tough. I mean, and we talked to a lot of other businesses and it's like a lot more calls than you've ever had to do in your life. You know? I mean, when it was good, it was good, but I think things are going to be a little tough, but all we can do is pull together as a community. Right. And guess what's a great community? Pickleball. Pickleball. And we all know that. We do. Being out on that court, that's your community. So it is, and it's a, and you don't have to feel like you don't have to feel like that salesperson, you know, you're just going to hit some balls and then you're just going to, what would you do if you just went in and open play? Yeah. I'm not Mike. Oh, you're Christana. Let's play some pickleball. Exactly. You know? And you did a good job there, Mike. Thank you. Well, organizing and the pickleball and stuff. So it'll be, it'll be fun. I like it. I, I think I enjoy it more than I want to pretend, you know, I think when I watch people play and I'm seeing the smiles and I just can't, I can't get enough of it. Like it's, there's no value of money to see another human out of their realm of the traffic, the family, the, the life, right? Life. It's just life. You kind of just forget about everything because you're learning or yeah. I'll say it a million times. You leave. When you come on the court, you leave life. You get to leave it for that 30 minutes, an hour. You get to take off and be gone. You're in your own pretend world and it comes back. Yeah, I know. We got to get back in the traffic. The cell phone's ringing and maybe the wife is mad because they shouldn't be playing pickleball all the time. But Mike, I know, I know I get in trouble quite often. I found out how I work it pretty well though. I do early and late, you know, but weekends I can get in trouble and I do as you should. I should. I should. My beautiful wife is very kind to me with me doing pickleball. So it makes me healthy. I feel good. It makes me a better person. Definitely. Anyway, I got off the subject there. I'm getting emotional about all this. Oops. Oh, and then let's talk about the phone. Here we go. It's starting. Well, guys, this will just be a segment of something. We just wanted to kind of shout out to the people here local, but it will be coming out to you here soon. Yes. Keep watching. Keep on networking. Keep on pickleballing. Thank you guys. Thank you. Bye. Bye. Every professional athlete, from football to tennis, relies on electrolytes to stay strong and recover fast. Why? Because sweat takes away more than water. It drains essential minerals like sodium and potassium. Without them, your body slows down and your game slips. Pickleball is no different. That's why Holi is packed with the electrolytes you need to stay sharp, fueled, and ready to play longer. Visit holiperformance.com. That's H-O-L-I-P-E-R-F-O-R-M-A-N-C-E.com, and use code NEXTDOOR for 20% off your order. Hey, we are here with George, and you are with Pickle Watch, which is really fascinating. Thank you. We are so excited that you came and kind of sought us out. Of course. Yeah. I mean, credit to them, too. They're literally live on the floor. We're right here. There's like a thousand people behind us playing. Yes. So, like, the fact that they're focused and talking to this many people is amazing. My introverted batteries are so already, like, you're killing it. I love it. Thank you. Well, this is exciting. We're off air here. We've been talking a little about this app he has. Guys, you're going to want this. This will change a lot in pickleball. So, do you want me to talk about it? Yeah, please. Yeah, tell us about it. It's called Pickle Watch. It's on the Apple App Store. It's just for Apple for now. There is some requests for Android and other watches. It's a real-time swing analyzer, so you hit start, and while you're playing, and let me maybe hit a demo for our people watching, it will swing green, yellow, red in real time depending on how your swing did. And you can also keep score if you swipe to the right of the watch app. And at the end of the tracking, it will give you a report how fast you hit, how many dinks, volleys, drives, smashes, slices, and then kind of a real-time coach during the game and then after the game and then trends over all your games. Gosh, this is awesome. Thank you. I'm a big data nerd. I've been in tech for over 20 years, and the reason I even built this was when I was starting, you know, you have people yelling at you at the courts, hey, do this, hey, do that, and I'm already so stimulated on the court. When someone's yelling at me, I'm like, it's not registering, but I'm that nerd who wants to look at the data later, and I was just searching the App Store. There was nothing. No. So we launched like around February of this year, over 60 countries, lots of users, lots of feedback, and it's been great since, yeah. Oh, this other thing too, us people that are getting a little bit older, not me, but next to me, the scoring. This keeps your score too. That's right. Oh, good. So this was a neat thing, and I know it's a joke, but we all do it, right? We get into the game and who is what. Exactly, yeah. Right now it's manual. You've got to actually click, click, click. For the score. For the score. That's all right. We're thinking of a creative way with some AI to like while you're saying, hey, Oh. Sorry to say 672, and it will hear it through the mic and just record. We're not there yet. There's a lot of clever AI we're adding in, but right now it's manual, and there's two ways people play. They'll do one session with a score, or they'll play like a whole tournament and track the whole thing. Don't keep scoring. It's been amazing to see how different the players play, but, yeah, we've got score tracking, yeah. So, again, when you're saying the green, that means you did a good swing. That's right. Just so people know, so you got a good swing. So to get a little nerdy with people who want to hear how it's calculating, this thing's got a gyroscope accelerometer. A gyroscope is your wrist rotation and where it is like kind of on a graph. Wow. If you guys want me to get really nerdy. Go ahead. You can get as nerdy as you want. Okay, so the new Apple Watches have the capability to do 100 measurements a second, whereas this one, or some of the old ones do 50, which is still fine. If you think about an average pickleball swing, it's like .3 to .7 seconds from down to up. So that's about 35 data points on a graph with your wrist rotation and the speed, and we're adding some clever AI to trace how you do versus other professionals, and that's all part of what's making it green, yellow, red. Right now it's a little broken. There's a few things that are in beta. We're still pretty quite new, but a lot of that is getting better. But, yeah, green is how you did versus other people who swing like you that have good swings. The common question is, well, what if I hit the net? It doesn't know how far you went. Those are some of the other apps with cameras. This is just the fundamentals. Those are the glasses coming soon. Exactly. Is that coming? I think this is like a little snooze peek. We're going to become best friends here. Yeah, I love it. That's cool. But, yeah, yours is going to be red a lot. I already got green. I don't know what you got. It's going to be red, red. Does it, like, when you hit something? Oh, yeah. That's a green. It's a slice. And you know it is on my left hand. I'm not left-handed, so actually, so when it is on my left hand and it's that way, it's hitting you. And how cool. So ball speed, like, on your serve, too, right, you can kind of give you, or is it just more your hand speed? Oh, great question. That's a great question because if you put, like, one of those guns that tracks the speed, it's not going to be one-to-one. It's like the speed of how fast your hand is going hitting the ball. It's not the speed of the ball. Okay, okay. Good. I just want people to know those are the glasses coming. Yeah, there you go. We'll give you the speed soon. Man, I love it. We got to talk. We got to talk here. But what an awesome, fun tool. Awesome, yeah. You're going to love this, and we need it, right? Yes. I mean, it's really hard as a coach. I'm a coach, so I teach. And how do you explain to somebody that where their hand is, and this is going to show them that they're, you know. You know, some coaches are like, oh, I don't like this. This is going to replace me. No, ads on. There's people who will share the sessions with their coach. Hey, here's how I played. And here's something I saw someone use really clever. They wanted to see, hey, why do I keep losing to this person? Well, they keep making me dink on my weak side. Here it is. I can see it all the way. So coming soon, we want to add a heat map, like where it was hitting against your body. Oh, my gosh, yeah. Why am I only losing to Mike and Chrissy? Oh, because they're hitting me on my weak side. I got to work on that. I got the data. Let's get better. I love it. No, I think as a coach, it's going to help me. And then when I leave them to go play a little bit, because, you know, they retain some and then go back to their old habits. Yes. They're going to say, Mike, hey, I did this. My watch kept telling me this is what's going on. You'll be able to look at the app and say, you know what? You still got to listen to me. You still got to do it this way. Or come back to me and say, I'm still doing it. What am I doing wrong? Now I have some data to say, let me look. Here we go. I like this. Thank you. For a coach, I think this is absolutely a tool you have to have. I love it. Yes. Because, again, a tool is only as good as the people that are helping you use the tool, right? So as a coach, if you're a coach and you're teaching people pickleball, this is just another arm for me to have, another person that's going to help them get better. Yes. And myself. I can't wait. He just loaded it on, guys. I want to go play. So I can't wait to do this. The other thing is scoring. Yes. People have a hard time scoring. So that really does help a lot of people. There are. Especially at the beginning. Even people that are like him. You know, he forgets, too. He's bad. But that's a great thing. Yes. Yeah. I mean, there are a lot of scoring apps. We're trying to become like the everything watch app. There's a lot of apps that do certain things. But this is like the scorekeeping, the swing tracking, the coach, maybe later what paddle you should use. We're just getting started. We have some AI. We want to make like a custom AI that's on your wrist, kind of like Tesla and like the autopilot. I like it. I like it. Just all this data. Set it, forget it. Some people set it, forget it. Some people every game. Yeah. I think that as you want to level up in this game, having something like that is invaluable. I mean, what's it worth? Exactly. Yeah. I mean, I can't wait. So we appreciate it. Well, how do you how did you start? How long ago did you start? Okay. Like what? When was it in your brain that you said, I got to do this? Okay. I started playing like two, three years ago. And, you know, I had a watch and in my head, I'm like, you know, I was like, it's a no brainer that a watch can get this data. Yeah. And then I saw some other apps that do like golf apps and whatever. And I just kept searching and I'm like, how is this not here? Like, and, and there are some, but they're not, they weren't at the level I wanted. I'm a big data nerd. I've been in engineering for 20 years. I like the graphs like, and, um, you know, I could, it's don't, a coach is very invaluable. Data is also invaluable. It's not lying. So in my head, I'm like, well, why doesn't this exist? So I created this very basic prototype that just went green, red, if it was good or bad, that was it. Just so I could have super smart. Yeah. Like while I'm playing on the court, I could see like, Hey, was that good or bad? Yeah. And so, uh, so I have real time live, you know, and again, it's not like I'm watching it, but I can hear it. There's also a sound element. Um, I, I created a prototype like two, three years ago. I kind of left it. And then, um, I was recently laid off and I, I, and earlier this year, and I just took all these ideas I had off the shelf. And I'm like, and when I kept building this one, I'm like, this just feels good. Like I remember when I got it working at like late in the night, I just got up and it was like, this feels, it just felt good. And when I, I went to, um, the Naples tournament in, uh, um, the, the tournament in Naples last year. And I kid you not, I wouldn't even finish talking and everyone was downloading it, giving me feedback. I was like, Whoa, there's like, this is. Amazing. You're going to get a lot of hits today going. How do we get that? Awesome. And here you are at nationals. I mean, here we got 50, 60 courts going on at one time. I'm pickleball is not getting smaller. No. And we want more, right? We want more. The more you play this game, I don't know what level you play at, but I mean, you want more, especially when you start to level up to that four Oh and above. Yes. Now you're, you want more. And so this is going to give you that more. And even at a beginner, like some of us are some, somebody near me, um, is going to have a lot of reds, but she'll, he'll make it. You know what I think that will be green. It is on my left hand. So, and that's one thing everybody needs to know that it has to be on the hand that you are using, that you play with. Right. I play with my right, but my watches on my left is not going to work. When I'm slapping Mike, when I'm hitting him on the right on the podcast. So we'll know that that'd be a good one. Actually. We'll test that. Yeah. There you go. I'll have a feature slap that analytics available right now. Right? Yeah. It's free on the app store. There's a subscription model, which is to get historical data like your other sessions, but you can totally try it for free. Um, if any pros or coaches are listening and want to work with me, we're training the data on more on professional players. And pretty soon what we wanted to do is like become like a AI autopilot. Like it'll adjust to your game, how you're swinging, how fast we do have that baked in right now. In the beginning, you'll see five swings, 10 swings, uh, warming up and learning your swing. But the more people we get to use it and train it on, the better it is. That's crazy. Yeah, that's awesome. Thank you. So, yeah, I, I don't see this going anywhere. And I know we're, like I said, we just, we got some inventions after this podcast. So another thing, does it do calories and all that burnt? So it does do that. Okay. Because you know what? Um, when I do my apple, it only has tennis, right? Yes. So I mean, not that that matters, but that's good. I love that you've just brought this up. One of the biggest things that, um, we want to do is, you know, it is a fitness application, uh, since launching in February and its growth, we, the amount of games played, the amount of calories burned collectively has been over a thousand pounds. We're really creating, we're going to create a marketing campaign where, uh, you know, let's lose, like, let's get healthy with Pickleball. Collectively. Yeah.
